- Sleeping in. The children didn’t wake until 8am, which is practically unheard of.
- Waking up very slowly with multiple cups of tea, snuggles on the sofa with the children and a long, hot shower.
- Feeling incredibly grateful for my MAC Face & Body foundation.
- Strolling to a recently opened branch of Waitrose to pick up some tapas style treats for lunch. I can highly recommend the piri piri houmous and the sweet potato falafal.
- Popping a beer-braised beef casserole in the oven. It’s comforting scent wafted through the house while it cooked for 3 hours.
- Loving the sight of Izzy all dolled up in her party gear. She seems to have inherited my weakness for sparkly shoes.
- Browsing a few jewellery stores in an attempt to find Mr. LA a wedding ring.
- Pouring over the newest addition to my recipe book collection and beginning to feel just a little bit festive. I
- Tentatively stamping the first of the place name tags for the wedding. 20 down, only 100 or so more to go. I found a beautiful set of alphabet stamps on Amazon which seem to be working a treat so far.
- Tucking into the delicious casserole. It was divine, seriously tasty! Comfort food at it’s best.
- Feeling really cosy.
- Putting a very sleepy Izzy to bed when she got back from the party with a belly full of pizza and a new build-a-bear.
- Sipping wine and watching a movie.
- Sleeping in again. The children were on a roll and didn’t wake us until just before 8. I really could get used to this!
- Frying eggs and grilling bacon for breakfast.
- Packing Izzy of to her Sunday morning drama class.
- Loathing my skin.
- Making sweet potato soup for lunch. It was definitely all about Autumnal comfort food this weekend.
- Walking into town with Izzy to pick up a few baking supplies.
- Lusting after kitchenalia in Lakelands.
- Loving the crispness of the air and the colours of the leaves.
- Baking Guinness ginger bread. I highly recommend this recipe, it produced such a moist, moreish cake. It will definitely be featuring as part of our cake buffet at the wedding.
- Wishing our clothes would wash and dry themselves.
- Drinking tea and eating cake.
- Desperately searching for clutch bags for my bridesmaids that are cheap but don’t look cheap. It is proving impossible.
- Making fish pie for dinner.
- Chuckling at Izzy and some of the novel uses she found for the humble pea.
- Enjoying the peace that the children’s bedtime brings.
- Deciding to clean the hob.
- Wishing I hadn’t.
- Parking myself on the sofa for some blog reading and ER DVD watching.

Perfect as ever, with such an array of delicious food that’s got me practically salivating at 7.30 in the morning! I MUST make that ginger recipe, divine!
I keep meaning to say to you about the heated airer, I know Lakeland do one (think they are pretty pricey), my friends without gardens/tumble driers all say they’ve made their life so much easier.
Good luck on the hunt for clutches, keep your eye on Accessorize I’d say, although they’ve gotten really expensive of late!

My goodness, your food ALWAYS looks so AMAZING!! You are truly a domestic Goddess 😀
Loving the “Dorothy” shoes so cute.
It’s a bit nerve racking isn’t it. the rubber stamping, you just have to take a deep breath and….go for it! 🙂 xx
@Laura You really must make the gingerbread. So delicious! I haven’t stopped eating it!
I will have to investigate these driers you speak of, anything to ease the load!
And HURRAH! I found some clutch bags for only £16 each! I may well treat myself to an Accessorize one though, they have some beauties!
@ThePamperedSparrow I’m really not a domestic goddess, I just enjoy cooking. I’m a right slacker when it comes to all the other, less tasty, housewifely duties!
The stamping turned out well. My future MIL’s name was a bit tricky though. So many letters it took me a few attempts to get it right. One thing is for sure, I have a new found appreciation for our friends Ben and Tom!!

Sounds like the perfect weekend – very jealous! xx
Oh, I remember a mispent youth of stamping anything in sight….yeah, I was the cool kid with the inkpad and rubber stamps!
I agree that your food always looks delicious, and your blog is certainly my first port of call if I’m in the mood for some food eye candy!
Doesn’t every girl want sparkly shoes? I certainly thought ‘oooohh, I’d like those in an adult size please’ when I saw your picture of Izzy’s Dorothy shoes!
Great post as always
Love Izzy’s shoes… very Dorothy 🙂
I agree with the comments about your food. It a) makes me want to eat it and b) makes me guilty that so often food is just ‘because’ and not ‘wow’. I need to go read my cook books to drum up some inspiration (though right now I have a really sore throat and only want icecream).
