Writing for wedding businesses is my
Launcells Barton is a family-owned, Grade II* listed building in Launcells, a small parish situated near Bude in northern Cornwall. Steeped in history and set amidst stunning wooded countryside, the property launched as a unique wedding and events venue in early 2016.
Combining historic buildings with a purpose-built Events Barn, owners Lara and Matthew have successfully fused old world charm and contemporary design to create a sophisticated venue with timeless appeal.
I wrote original and persuasive copy for the new Launcells Barton website, working hard to establish an image of the venue as the perfect destination for weddings, events and corporate away-days.
Having developed a friendly, down-to-earth tone that also gives an impression of quality and attention to detail, a great deal of emphasis was placed on the property’s status as an exclusive use venue, as well as the bespoke nature of the packages Lara and Matthew provide.
Jo Hansford Photography
Jo and Nic, the husband and wife team behind Jo Hansford Photography, describe themselves as visual storytellers. Photographing horses, weddings, families and pets throughout the South West and further afield, the couple have a keen eye for the little details that paint a much bigger picture, producing work that is honest, natural and beautiful.
Developing a new voice for the brand, I created a full complement of fresh, engaging copy for the redesigned Jo Hansford Photography website. Prominent and successful within the world of equine photography, it was important to use tone and language that would appeal to their ideal client while communicating the products and services they provide in a clear, concise and attractive manner.

Sharon Roberts Hairdressing
Sharon Roberts is a multi-award-winning hairdresser with over 20 years of experience. With a focus on weddings, special occasions and events throughout London and Surrey, she’s incredibly passionate about providing excellent service while creating stunning hairstyles for her clients.
Following a redesign, Sharon needed to update a few key areas of her website. By producing fresh, new copy, I was able to strengthen her brand voice and refine her message. With an emphasis on Sharon’s obvious expertise and her friendly, down-to-earth approach, I needed to present a lot of useful information in a straightforward and appealing way. Subheadings, succinct sentences and a comprehensive FAQ section were vital.

Specialising in wedding invitation suites, envelope addressing, laser-cut signs, on-the-day stationery and modern calligraphy workshops, Merrie creates elegant, hand-lettered details for some of life’s most memorable moments.
I worked closely with Merrie to produce all the copy for her redesigned website. Focussing on the timeless beauty of her work, I created a distinctive tag line to sit alongside her new brand visuals. The project also involved naming new products and ranges, writing detailed product descriptions and crafting persuasive copy for sales pages.
That’s not all…
My copywriting experience also extends to fashion, beauty, interior design, luxury retail, health and wellbeing. Through my lifestyle blog, I’ve worked with a number of prestigious brands including Harrods, Christy, House of Fraser, Hotel Chocolat, John Lewis and Mercure. Since 2012, I’ve spent a considerable amount of time crafting beautiful literary accounts of other people’s weddings in my capacity as The Wedding Reporter.
She had a great understanding of the brief and especially my brand’s tone of voice.
Franky is absolutely fantastic to work with. She had a great understanding of the brief and especially my brand’s tone of voice. Franky clearly has a great deal of knowledge and experience within her industry and I hope to work with her again in the future. – Lucy Marriott, Lucy Victoria Designs
