- Sleeping in and waking up very slowly.
- Heading downstairs for a cup of tea.
- Writing Carl a short shopping list before he raced off to Asda.
- Watching Alice in Wonderland with Izzy.
- Warming chocolate croissants in the oven.
- Eating a toasted bagel topped with Marmite for breakfast.
- Making the beds and trying to ignore the other chores that needed doing.
- Escaping upstairs to work.
- Writing, deleting and writing some more.
- Excitedly receiving a delivery from our local bakery, Bristol Loaf. Sourdough, Oatly and cinnamon rolls. Heaven!
- Squeezing in a little more work before a late lunch.
- Curling up on the sofa to watch The Martian.
- Forgetting it was such a long film.
- Hurriedly making Meera Sodha’s Workers Curry for dinner.
- Sipping a mojito and dialling in for our weekly Zoom with my parents.
- Clearing up and coaxing the kids into their PJs.
- Grabbing a quick shower.
- Snacking on crisps and watching another episode of Ozark. Season 3 is very good so far.
- Collapsing into bed with my book, The Botanist’s Daughter* by Kayte Nunn. I’m halfway through and enjoying it very much. It’s a must-read for fans of Kate Morton.
- Drifting off to sleep.
- Creeping downstairs for some peace and quiet before the others woke up.
- Trying to switch off from the news and contain my rage.
- Enjoying toasted sourdough for breakfast.
- Frying eggs for the children.
- Jumping in the shower, pulling on clean clothes and doing my hair and makeup.
- Joining a Zoom call with my mum, gran, aunt and uncle. It was so nice to chat with everyone and hear their news.
- Feeling grateful for modern technology.
- Sitting outside in the sun for a while.
- Eating a bowl of pasta for lunch.
- Helping Izzy bake a batch of chocolate brownies.
- Cleaning the bathroom and putting a wash on.
- Watching Carl make the kids a couple of non-alcoholic mojitos.
- Tapping away on my laptop while the others played a game of Splendour*.
- Looking forward to cooking and eating veggie sausage hotpot and a side of roast potatoes.
- Needing a long soak in the bath followed by an early night.
- Wondering what half term will look like while we’re still in lockdown.
