  • Waking up at 5.30am. We couldn’t even blame the children; they didn’t emerge for another two hours.
  • Creeping downstairs for a cup of tea.
  • Watching The Chelsea Flower Show on iPlayer while we waited for the kids to join us.
  • Tucking into fried egg sandwiches for breakfast.
  • Slowly getting ready to face the day.
  • Slipping into my favourite skinny jeans and a crisp white shirt.
  • Heading out with Izzy while Mr L.A. took Jesse for a quick bike ride nearby.
  • Hopping on the bus to B&Q.
  • Popping into Boots for a few bits. I picked up another tub of Soap and Glory’s The Daily Soothe which I’ve pretty much decided I cannot live without.
  • Filling a trolley with fresh herbs, strawberry plants, foxgloves and a hanging basket.
  • Taking a taxi home.
  • Grabbing a quick lunch.
  • Pottering in the yarden all afternoon.
  • Suddenly feeling exhausted.
  • Heading back to bed for a bit.
  • Feeling frustrated by my current limitations and wishing I could be 100% well again.
  • Dragging myself downstairs to make dinner.
  • Cooking and eating Jamie Oliver’s tray-baked salmon with green beans, olives, tomatoes and anchovies.
  • Sipping gin and tonic while Mr L.A. put the children to bed.
  • Settling down to watch Nightmare on Elm Street.
  • Collapsing into bed.
  • Sleeping in.
  • Demolishing a big breakfast and multiple cups of tea.
  • Staining the deck.
  • Listening to my body and resting for an hour.
  • Enjoying a long, hot shower.
  • Summoning up the energy to take a walk in the sunshine.
  • Strolling to Troopers  Hill.
  • Foraging elderflowers.
  • Watching the children climb trees and pick up sticks.
  • Pausing to snap some photographs among the cow parsley.
  • Cutting our walk short when I felt I couldn’t manage anymore.
  • Making a start on some elderflower cordial with the children while Mr L.A. applied another coat of stain to the deck.
  • Relaxing on the sofa in front of a film.
  • Preparing Epic Fish Tacos for dinner.
  • Feeling full.
  • Indulging in a bubble bath before bed.
  • Loving Oskia’s Renaissance Mask. It’s worth every bit of beauty blogger hype.
  • Watching The Good Wife while Mr L.A. and Izzy bonded over The Matrix Reloaded downstairs.
  • Drifting off to sleep.
  • Waking up when Jesse joined us in bed.
  • Deciding to stay in my PJs all day.
  • Enjoying tea and toast for breakfast.
  • Dusting off the tipi and setting it up outside.
  • Filling it with blankets and cushions.
  • Relaxing in the yarden.
  • Watching the children play.
  • Finishing off the cordial.
  • Adding some soda water and pouring the mixture over crushed ice.
  • Drifting off in front of a Disney film.
  • Saying goodbye to Mr L.A. as he headed to Devon for 24 hours.
  • Somehow managing to rustle up a passable meal from the pathetic contents of our fridge.
  • Letting the children watch YouTube videos before bed.
  • Drinking tea and trying to write this blog post.
  • Realising just how much I’ve missed documenting our weekends.
