• Sleeping late.
  • Giving Jesse a cuddle when he climbed into bed with me. Early morning snuggles are a rare occurrence these days.
  • Heading downstairs to find Carl.
  • Sipping tea and making pancakes for breakfast.
  • Waving Carl and the kids off as they went on their daily walk.
  • Pulling on my scruffy painting clothes.
  • Listening to A Beautiful Mess podcast while I worked on some DIY. I’ve almost finished painting the cabinet doors for the laundry room which means I need to make a firm decision on handles.
  • Jumping in the shower and getting dressed for the day.
  • Eating a fishless finger wrap for lunch.
  • Helping Izzy reorganise her room.
  • Curling up on the sofa to watch Incredibles 2. We loved it.
  • Snacking on popcorn and Haribo sweets.
  • Cooking and eating chilli tofu, another great recipe from Meera Sodha’s East*.
  • Chatting to my parents via Zoom.
  • Watching Disney+ with Izzy. Our latest obsession is a documentary about the most memorable props from classic movies like Mary Poppins.
  • Putting the kids to bed.
  • Drinking gin and eating Pringles.
  • Enjoying Green Book on Amazon Prime. Such a great movie.
  • Retreating upstairs to bed.
  • Reading until I couldn’t keep my eyes open.
  • Sleeping in.
  • Using these Joyful Conversation Starters on my weekly call with my mum and sister. We successfully avoided talking about Coronavirus for over an hour and had some real laughs along the way.
  • Drinking tea and munching on a toasted bagel smothered in marmite.
  • Adding another coat of paint to the cabinet doors.
  • Climbing back into bed for a couple of hours.
  • Finishing The Flatshare* by Beth O’Leary. It’s superb – highly recommend.
  • Feeling very content as Jesse slipped into bed beside me to read his book too.
  • Making veggie fried rice for lunch.
  • Pottering in the kitchen.
  • Roasting peppers and tomatoes to make a simple pasta sauce for later in the week.
  • Flicking through recipe books.
  • Meal planning and writing our shopping list for the week ahead.
  • Listening to the kids on a video call with my in-laws.
  • Writing this blog post from the comfort of the sofa while Carl and the kids play a card game nearby.
  • Looking forward to Sunday dinner followed by a long, hot bath and an early night.
