• Sleeping in.
  • Remembering everything all over again. For a few split seconds each morning it all feels like a bad dream.
  • Padding downstairs for a cup of tea.
  • Curling up on the sofa with a good book {The Salt Path* by Raynor Win}.
  • Hugging the children when they appeared downstairs.
  • Pulling on skinny jeans and my favourite Breton tee.
  • Wrapping up warm and jumping in the car.
  • Helping the kids into their wellies.
  • Taking a socially distanced stroll along the river at Oldbury Court Estate.
  • Listening to the sound of the water rushing and the birds singing.
  • Foraging for wild garlic.
  • Racing home to make pesto for lunch {loosely following this recipe}.
  • Using the last of our pasta and wondering when we’ll be able to get our hands on some more.
  • Enjoying an afternoon shower.
  • Pulling on my PJs to spend the afternoon on the sofa.
  • Watching Cast Away and drinking tea.
  • Cooking and eating a big bowl of Linda McCartney’s Shredded Hoisin Duck and fried rice.
  • Sipping a G&T.
  • Trying to avoid Twitter and its constant stream of Corona related updates.
  • Sorting the children’s art supplies into their new spinning desk organiser. Anything to make weeks and weeks of home schooling a little easier.
  • Digging out my Dymo* and labelling each section.
  • Tucking the kids in for the night.
  • Watching the end of Ready or Not before flicking over to Netflix for another episode of Schitt’s Creek.
  • Laughing a lot.
  • Retreating upstairs to bed.
  • Waking up earlier than I would have liked.
  • Waiting for the others to surface.
  • Opening my cards and gifts from Carl and the children.
  • Feeling grateful for Uber Eats and McDonald’s breakfasts.
  • Chatting to my mum in Dorset and my sister in Australia via Zoom.
  • Missing them both.
  • Pottering outside in the yarden.
  • Watching Carl pressure wash the decking.
  • Moving pots around and mentally planning this year’s planting.
  • Enjoying the sunshine.
  • Grabbing a quick lunch.
  • Sanding the outside of the big airing cupboard in our laundry room. Before everything kicked off, I’d started giving the space a bit of a makeover. Doing a little DIY each day is proving to be a great distraction.
  • Giving our bedroom a quick clean.
  • Looking forward to sinking into clean sheets after my bath this evening.
  • Drinking tea and eating crumpets.
  • Listening to Carl and Jesse play FIFA on the Xbox beside me.
  • Tapping away at my laptop.
  • Wondering why it’s taken me so long to bring this series back.
