• Waking up slowly.
  • Sipping tea beneath a blanket on the sofa.
  • Eating a toasted bagel for breakfast.
  • Throwing doors and windows wide open.
  • Enjoying the sight of our Easter decorations in the dining room.
  • Wishing I had some fresh flowers for the table.
  • Putting up the teepee and laying blankets outside.
  • Sitting with the children while they lounged in the sun.
  • Pulling on scruffy clothes and cracking on with some DIY.
  • Listening to the new Laura Marling album while I added another coat of white paint in the laundry room.
  • Heating up leftovers for lunch.
  • Watching Carl repair a damaged skirting board.
  • Napping in the sunshine.
  • Grabbing a quick shower and pulling on clean PJs.
  • Drinking a St Germain Gin and Tonic.
  • Cooking and eating pasta with broccoli sauce.
  • Catching up with my parents via Zoom.
  • Toasting the end of mum’s radiotherapy treatment.
  • Settling down for a night in front of the TV.
  • Watching the end of Color Out of Space. Not my cup of tea at all.
  • Collapsing into bed with my Kindle and reading the first few chapters of The Binding* by Bridget Collins which is currently reduced to 99p.
  • Waking up earlier than I wanted to.
  • Meal planning for the week ahead and ordering a few groceries online.
  • Digging out the Easter treats.
  • Letting the children eat chocolate for breakfast.
  • Chatting to my mum, sister and cousin via Zoom.
  • Setting up an egg hunt for the kids.
  • Reminiscing about Easter when they were little.
  • Preparing a fake chicken pie for Sunday lunch. I loosely follow this Jamie Oliver recipe, using The Chunk by Oumph! and Oatly cream instead of creme fraiche. Most ready-rolled puff pastry is accidentally vegan anyway.
  • Helping Izzy make chocolate brownies for dessert.
  • Eating too much.
  • Missing family.
  • Curling up on the sofa to watch Fred Astaire and Judy Garland in Easter Parade.
  • Racing through my usual Sunday chores.
  • Ticking off a few fiddly bits of DIY in the laundry room while Carl gave the kids supper.
  • Sitting outside with a G&T.
  • Foraging in the fridge for something to eat.
  • Saying goodnight to the children.
  • Watching Marriage Story on Netflix and crying from beginning to end. It was superb.
  • Retreating upstairs to bed.
  • Getting up early to put the bins out.
  • Savouring the peace and quiet for a while.
  • Pottering in the kitchen while the kids watched old episodes of The Simpsons on Disney+.
  • Almost forgetting it was a bank holiday.
  • Having a very lazy day with the kids while Carl worked upstairs.
  • Snoozing on the sofa.
  • Turning on my laptop to write this post.
  • Looking forward to a long, hot bath later this evening.
