Having bought THE dress, my thoughts have now turned to the smaller details of my bridal get-up. I’ve got my eye on some pretty jewellery on the Queens & Bowl website (although I’m wondering whether studs, necklace and my sparkly headband will be overkill, especially as the fabric of my frock is quite ornate) and I’ve been browsing shoes online.
I’ve got quite a clear image of how I’d like my hair and make-up. I know I want my hair up and I’d like some Marcel waves to stay true to my 30s inspiration and the whole Hollywood vibe. Red lippy is a definite, I just have to decide which shade to go for.
Here’s a few celebs that have been inspiring me of late…

The last image of Drew Barrymore is perfect, I adore her hair and make-up. It’s definitely the kind of look I’m aiming for, just a little softer perhaps.
What do you think ladies? Can you help me with my jewellery dilemma? Seen any beautiful shoes you think I should check out?

Have long been a reader of your blog, and have loved reading all about your wedding plans! (and now I’m finally actually writing a comment!)
I got married in the summer and wore these: http://www.schuh.co.uk/womens-stone-irregular-choice-cortesan-floral-bar-court/1106011150/
but if I hadn’t bought them, I wanted to get a pair of Rachel Simpson shoes as they are goooorgeous (and might be up your street as they are vintage inspired and have names like marilyn and grace!

Gorgeous inspiration! Check out Stephanie Browne jewellery too – it is stunning! xx
oh my god, these are all amazing!! i love the idea of a pretty hair clip instead of a vail (although drew almost changed my mind at the end there). as for jewelery, i think less is more. especially if your dress has more detail: too much jewelery will draw the eye away from that.
you have such impeccible taste. i hope you post pictures of the big day when it happens! 🙂
Thank you for all the fabulous links ladies, some real gems there!!
@Sweetpea I’m so glad you finally left a comment, I’ve found a few things for my bridesmaids on the Glitzy Secrets site. I’d never heard of that one, perfect for a vintage inspired wedding! I’d been eyeing the Rachel Simpson shoes already, great minds hey?!
@Saskia Stephanie Browne’s jewellery is indeed stunning. Thanks for the heads up!
@RMb Thank you honey! I think you’re right re. taking a less is more aproach. Can’t decide whether to go for dangly earrings and a braclet or small diamond studs and a necklace though.

I must have missed your dress on your blog! Maybe it was on here around the birth of my little one recently?
Love those hairdos, they are perfect for your ideas and theme.
Maybe leave off the necklace if you’re worried about overkill? Studs would polish off the updo perfectly, and the headband sounds gorgeous. Sometimes its a bit of trial and error with what looks best, I started off with thinking I’d have my hair down, a bracelet and a hair decoration of some kind, and ended up with a veil and just studs. Maybe have a play around and see what you prefer x
@Anonymous Girl I posted it on here for a brief 24 hrs, I think it was a while after your son was born (it’s Finn isn’t it?? Excuse my poor memory) but you may just have missed the post. I was really, really hoping you’d seen it!! I could email you the pic if you remind me of your address?
I think you’re right about the jewellery thing and having a play around. I’m going to order a few bits online and then have a mammouth trying on session at my Mum’s house over xmas. How are you holding up anyway lovely, have things started to get a little easier?

Oooh yes send me a pic to [email protected]! Do have a big try on sesh, and maybe take some pics at the time to refer back to and compare your ideas. I did that on the 2 occasions I went to the dress shop to have it fitted and it helped no end.
Yes my son is called Finn. :o) I’m okay thanks, I find the night feeds pretty killer especially when I’ve been battling this Post Traumatic Shock and associated anxiety, but generally as time has gone on since the birth I am feeling a bit more positive and like my old self.
