Going Up…
- 2 weeks until we go on holiday! I just know we’re going to have the most amazing time in Bali (and no doubt I’ll bore you all with every detail when we get home). I am so excited, if a little nervous about the 16hr flight with 2 small children.
- The weather. It has been gloriously sunny down here in Devon this past week. I adore the sunshine, it makes me feel so good.
- Chanel UV Essentiel Protective Care. I am very, very impressed with this anti-pollution SPF 50 wonder. I’ve been using it for near on 1 month now and I’m hooked. It leaves my skin feeling great, it’s non-greasy and it hasn’t broken me out, plus I love knowing my skin is really protected from the suns rays.
- Izzy’s first ever sports day at school. I spent Tuesday morning cheering her on in the sweltering heat (and I had Jesse on my back, hot would be an understatement). I loved seeing her enjoying herself so much, she was so full of energy and enthusiasm. Her team came 4th overall. Izzy wasn’t really bothered by winning or loosing, she was just thrilled to get an ice lolly at the end of it all!

- Revlon Tropical Temptation on my toes. Unusually for Revlon the formulation of this polish leaves a lot to be desired but I just love the colour. It’s so summery.
- Picking up 3 new recipe books from the library. Plenty of bedtime reading for me and plenty of cooking planned for the weekend!
Going Down…
- Packing anxiety. I’m starting to stress about what to take and how we’ll fit it all in to our cases. Narrowing down what make-up to take is also going to be tricky, very tricky indeed!
- The strap on one of my favourite tops breaking today. I simply cannot envisage my holiday wardrobe without the strappy number in question. Geez, I wish I could sew.
- The funky smell coming from one of my favourite Chanel lip glosses. It’s less than 12 month old but I’m almost certain it’s gone off. Not impressed.
- The state of my nails. Dry and peeling. I may actually have to bite the bullet and pay for a manicure before our trip. They’re beyond help from an amateur like me.
- Overwhelming lack of liquid cash. We have plenty saved for our trip but right here and now, I’m broke!

2 weeks until jollidays is fabby news 🙂 You’ll get there with the packing, pack different bits in different cases, so if, god forbid, your luggage goes missing, you might still end up with something! Take plenty of pretty coral/bronzey make up, and nothing too heavy, just lightweight, pretty things 🙂 I can’t wait to hear all about it!
Izzy looks so happy, well done to her, but boy oh boy I bet you and Jesse were hot!!
Looking forward to some new recipes too 😉 I’d be interested in seeing some savoury dishes if you do that, I’m a budding baker but a hopeless meal maker 🙁

You’re going to BALI!? How jealous am I? wow! Oooh yes I can understand, I’d be nervous about the long flight, too. We’ve managed 12 hours but not 16! Make sure you have a DVD player with you but hm actually you’ll need loads of batteries; mine only lasts about 5 hours and there’s no way to recharge on the plane. I hope your plane has individual screens for each seat! Take lots of snacks, that keeps them busy too…
Aww Izzy looks like she had a fab day. I love the Chanel sunscreen, its so light and non-greasy. Have a fab holiday! x
@Laura I know, I’m so excited. Thanks for the tips re packing, it’s just daunting having to think about my wardrobe and the kids (Mr. LA can worry about himself!)
I’ll have a think about savoury recipes, it might be fun to share some of my favourites.
@Cafe Bellini The longest ww’vre done with Izzy is 14 hrs but this is the first time we’ve flown anywhere with the two of them. We usally take it in turns to sleep so ot sure how we’ll manage this time. It’s overnight flight so fingers crossed they both sleep!
@Peonies & Lilies I first read about the sunscreen on your blog ages ago so thank you for the tip, I really love it!

You’re going to have a fabulous time on holiday. I understand what you mean about the flight with little ones. I’ve not done it with more than one as I’m too chicken!
If the lipgloss smells it’s definitely contaminated. What a nuisance though if it’s only a year old. Lipglosses are particularly prone it sadly.
@ModestyBrown I hope we will. I’m convinced the flight will be fine, and it’s all worth it isn’t it!
Hmmmm… I think it’s going in the bin tomorrow then. So annoying but an excuse to buy a replacement in Duty Free I guess!
