7 silk ties arrived in the mail yesterday. I don’t think I’ve ever teared up over a tie before. I kept thinking ‘this is the tie my fiance will be wearing when he becomes my husband‘.
I’m becoming increasingly aware of the fact that this wedding malarkey is turning me into something of a sentimental fool. Bothered.
Just in case you’re curious, I found these in debenhams. They’re Jasper Conran and the quality seems excellent. I probably could have found something a little more inexpensive but everything I found that was cheap looked… well, cheap.
The pashminas were cheap, but also perfect. I adore them. I picked them up in the final dregs of the Accessorize sale. They were marked down from £16 to £12 but when I reached the till they rang through at £5.40. £5.40! That’s the 3 bridesmaids sorted for a mere £16.20. They’re beautiful to boot, a pale grey shot through with silver thread that provides just the right amount of opulence next to the simple frocks we’ve chosen.
I’m not convinced that these will actually keep the girls warm on a cold January day but at least they’ll be able to cover their shoulders. We’ll just have to snuggle, and let the wedding-adrenalin do the rest.
Well, you likey?

Every time I see a wedding related post from you it gives me butterflies…partially because you are SO far ahead of the game compared to us and partly because well, I know how you feel and it’s the most exciting and amazing time of your life.
2012 brides ftw!

@Eating Diamonds We are getting married a good 6 months before you AND most of this summer will be taken up with dissertationing leaving little time for anything wedding related! We’re just having little bursts of activity. Right now I have hardly any uni work so I can do wedding stuff without feeling guilty!
You’re right, exciting and amazing and very emotional (or maybe that’s just me!) I literally cannot wait to see your plans unfold, your wedding is going to be amazing, I just know it!

Don’t worry – the wedding adrenaline will be enough to keep you all warm!! Noone thought I’d be warm enough in my practically sleeveless (chiffon sleeves are merely decoration) dress and the chiffon wrap, but I wasn’t cold at all!
Beautiful colours 🙂

Audrey and Emma @Eating Diamonds – I am SO excited to see both your wedding plans unfolding!! yippee for 2012! These look gorgeous Audrey. I love the colour of the pashminas. Have you got the bridesmaids dresses to show?! I love wedding plans. It is all so amazingly special 🙂 We were married 18 months ago and, rather ridiculously, I do miss all the planning! You can’t ever get that period back so enjoy it and cry away!! xxx

@m4dSwine Excellent, I’ll stop worrying then! I’m really adverse to most of the traditional winter wedding attire (I don’t want a marabou shrug) so I’d just reigned myself to being chilly! Glad you like the colours!
@Lila Loves There is a link to the post I did on my bridesmaid dresses in this post, or click the link to all my wedding related posts on the top right-hand side of the blog (the pretty pin-up bride). It’s only images from the website but they are pretty acurate.
I’ve heard other brides say they miss the planning stage once it’s all over. i can’t imagine I’ll give up reading the wedding blogs, so much prettiness!!

Fab colour, very elegant (for want of a better word), and what a steal on the pashmina’s 🙂 I love reading your planning posts (despite knowing that planning a wedding would be similar to my worst nightmare!), I’m so excited for you 🙂
Emma, I can’t wait for yours 🙂
