The end of August already? Where is the year going? I honestly feel as if I only unpacked my summer sandals last week and yet I’m writing this while wearing a snuggly pair of tan boots. August bank jollyday and it feels decidedly autumnal outside. Oh well. Here are some of the things that have brightened my month…
- Finishing university. Sorry to keep going on about this but it really is such an amazing feeling to have survived the last three years. I just hope my results will give me something to smile about in September.
- Chanel Gondola nail polish from the Venice collection. I think this will turn out to be *the* Autumn/Winter nail polish for me.
- Cooking. No more studying means I have more time to indulge my other interests and, by association, my family’s taste buds. Today I put together some homemade granola. The smell of toasting oats and maple syrup wafting through the house was delicious and it feels good to know my daughter will be having a healthy and yummy breakfast in the morning.
- The ESPA skincare I’ve been using for the last few weeks (the hydrating cleansing milk and floral spafresh). This range smells delicious and it has almost completely eliminated the dry, dehydrated patches on my cheeks. I hope it keeps doing it’s stuff and doesn’t break me out any time soon.
- Cadbury’s Double Decker. I cannot put into words how much I love this chocolate bar!
- Spending some precious time with my daughter before she starts primary school this Thursday. We’ve done some craft projects at a local art cafe, visited the library, been shopping for school shoes and sat in the garden blowing bubbles. I’m genuinely excited that she’s starting school but can’t help feeling a little sad about this chapter of her life ending so I wanted to make her last few days of pre-schoolhood special.
