I was kind of dreading March, mainly because I had to go back to work. In fact, easing myself back into employment hasn’t been as horrific as I thought it would be and I’ve actually rather enjoyed having a proper reason to get dressed and make myself up in the morning. I seem to have dragged myself out of the make-up rut that begun to engulf me last month and I’m starting to feel a little excited about switching things up for spring/summer. If we can just shift the rain and snow (yes… snow) that’s currently plaguing the U.K everything will be just peachy!

A few of the things brightening my world this month…

  • Gaining new followers – I’ve had a little flurry of lovely people finding my little space on the web recently and it really does make me smile! I love reading all your wonderful comments and knowing that somewhere out there somebody actually reads the odd ramblings that spew from my mind! Speaking of which…
  • Cheese and marmite sandwiches – I know marmite is the type of food that seriously divides opinion but I think it’s delicious, especially with a really strong cheddar… Mmmmmm. I just make my own on yummy wholemeal bread but apparently M&S stock them now (I can hear the whole ‘this isn’t just a cheese and marmite sandwich, this is a Marks & Spencer bloody-yummy-amazing cheese and marmite sandwich’ as I type this).
  • Mac Fix+ – I rediscovered this product recently and I’ve been using it everyday. I love how refreshing it feels and the fact that it stops my mineral make-up looking so powdery. My skin has been doing some weird things this month and I was convinced my foundation was no longer cutting it but using this product has changed my mind.
  • Carnivale – Mr LA and I finally got round to watching this box set this month. It’s really, really good. Such a shame HBO cancelled it so quickly. We haven’t finished Season 1 yet but we’ll definitely be picking up the 2nd season too. I especially love the 1930s costumes and all the amazing vintage details in the sets. The opening title sequence is pretty special too.

  • Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss – Quite simply the most amazing drugstore lip gloss EVER. If you don’t own any, rectify this immediately. They are wonderfully pigmented, last well on the lips, apply beautifully and they don’t leave even the slightest hint of yukky stickiness on my lips. Perfect. At the moment I only have the 3 shades from the spring collection (of which the coral shade is my favourite… I have never known a gloss in any shade other than red to leave a stain on my lips. This one does, and I love it) but I will be purchasing more.
  • Booking our holiday to Bali – Definitely the highlight of my month. I’m so excited. I can’t wait for the sunshine, loads of yummy food, cocktails on the terrace, watching the children play on the beach (wonder if Jesse will be walking by then), spa treatments and some much needed quality time with my chap!
