I’ve been feeling awful for the last 48hrs, totally exhausted and run down (have a look at menorrhagia and anaemia on Wikepedia and you’ll get an idea of what sort of state I’m in…. uggghhh, sometimes it sucks to be a woman).

I’ve been pretty much incapable of anything more strenuous than sleeping on the sofa so that’s exactly what I’ve been doing all afternoon. As Mr. LA relieved me of the children for the day (I was too weak to even pick Jesse up) I decided to re-watch The September Issue, the documentary about the making of the magazine’s most famous edition.

I relish this film in all it’s incredibly superficial glory. Anna Wintour (the editor-in-chief of US Vogue) is certainly a fashion force to be reckoned with and Grace Coddington (the Creative Director) is a true visionary. Moreover, the film always leaves me feeling inspired and motivated to make more of an effort with my appearance and grooming in general. Right now, this can only be a good thing.

My favourite part of the film is Grace’s 1920s shoot… its all back-lit, soft focus and Galliano dresses. I spent some of this afternoon scouring the Internet for the images because, well… who doesn’t love a bit of Vogue editorial on a Thursday evening, hmmm?Images excitedly discovered over at The Alternative Wife. Lovely blog, go check it out.
