Not even the horrible customs charge could quell my enthusiasm as I went to collect this particular package from the Post Office yesterday. After what felt like an eternity (but was actually more like 4 weeks) our Save The Dates finally arrived from America.

Now, I am not normally a particularly impulsive person, at least not when it comes to shopping. I’ll no doubt torture myself an awful lot over the next 11 months, agonising over every wedding-related purchase. By way of an example, it took me a whole week to pluck up the courage to buy the envelopes for these babies.

However, this particular purchase was a no-brainer. Within moments of reading this post on my favourite wedding blog Love My Dress I had clicked on over to the GoGo Snap etsy shop and placed an order. Perhaps impulsive is the way forward because I couldn’t be happier with how these have turned out.

The talent behind these mini-masterpieces is Julia Fisher. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second in recommending her services, she has been professional, accommodating and generally lovely for the duration. Her work is of the highest quality and her designs are spectacular, perfect for anyone planning an art deco or vintage inspired wedding. She produces a whole range of stationary, including business cards and fabulous thank you notes, all based on pieces from her personal collection of original vintage art and photography.

The photography isn’t spectacular (I was far too excited to worry about getting the lighting and angles spot on) but let’s take a look shall we….

I was spoilt for choice by Julie’s designs, I loved so many of them. The detail that had me falling in love with this particular card was the fact that the image comes from a card Julie’s Grandfather gave her Grandmother in 1932. The image has a beautiful textured appearance. The original card was printed on parchment paper and this gives its contemporary incarnation a really authentic vintage look.

The card stock is excellent quality and has an impressive weighty feel to it. Julie’s hand-finishing is brilliant, I adore the delicately rounded corners, the perfect finishing touch.

Seeing our names printed like this makes the whole thing feel very real indeed! No one calls me Frances these days (apart from my mother), it’s like it’s all happening to somebody else!

I’m so pleased with these, I can’t wait to mail them! I really think the design and its 1930s feel fits our venue and overall look perfectly. What do you think ladies, pretty no?
