I’m absolutely exhausted tonight. It took all of my energy to simply switch on the laptop! I’m suffering from a classic case of ‘too much wine, not enough sleep’.

Yesterday evening I got myself glammed up, slipped into my LBD and tottered up the road in a pair of pink heels to join my work colleagues for a meal at a local veggie restaurant. I had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, the vino was flowing and there was a lovely atmosphere around the table. I elegantly stumbled home just before midnight and fell in to bed as soon as I’d taken my make-up off. Unfortunately my son decided to wake me up at 5.30am. Yea, cheers for that Jesse. That will teach me to go out on a school night. Anyway, I made it through the day and I intend to have a long soak in the tub tonight before heading to bed nice and early.

The other day, when I was feeling far more energetic, I gave our bedroom a bit of a spring clean. Once I had removed the (rather thick) coating of dust from my chest of draws I decided to take some pictures of where I keep my jewellery. I love reading about other people’s storage ideas so I decided it was about time I shared some of my mine. This is my little corner of pink girlyness in our large bedroom. When we redecorated Mr LA’s only request was that the room shouldn’t be pink. He got his way and this is as close to an over-the-top feminine boudoir as I’ll ever get!

I’ve had the necklace holder for ages. It’s not really to my taste anymore (I’d probably go for something a little more subtle) but it does the job. It does hold a lot of necklaces/bracelets and the small shelf is perfect for storing brooches. The bottle of pink Moet is from the day I got my degree results. The beautiful Swarovski necklace Mr LA gave me for Christmas is dangling from its neck. The Agent Provocateur box (it was once a perfume coffret) houses the jewellery I don’t wear very often and the small mirrored box is where I keep all my stud earrings.

I keep all my other earrings on this engraved glass cake stand. I bought it from Monsoon Home with exactly this purpose in mind. I feel cheerful every time I look at it and it makes it very easy to find whichever pair I’m looking for.
