- Baking a lemon and mascarpone cake with my daughter. It was absolutely delicious and very easy. Follow the basic recipe for a Victoria sponge cake, substituting milk with the zest and juice of one lemon. Once the cakes have cooled, spread one with mascarpone and the other with lemon curd before sandwiching them together and sprinkling with golden caster sugar.
- Doing far too much housework… washing, cleaning, tidying. Dull.
- Hugging my best friend when she finally arrived from London with her fella.
- Having a proper catch up. We hadn’t seen each other for 8 months. The last time she visited was when my son was only 3 days old.
- Cooking a huge tuna pasta bake and an enormous mountain of garlic bread.
- Drinking Rose wine and laughing a lot.
- Nursing a poorly baby.
- Not getting much sleep.
- Taking a long shower and smothering myself in Lush Turkish Delight.
- Loving MAC Vex and Parfait Amour e/s.
- Forgetting to defrost the chicken for Sunday lunch.
- Watching Jesse crawl. Yes… he’s finally mastered it and is gradually beginning to grasp what this new found freedom can afford him.
- Taking a lovely long walk down to the river and round the quayside.
- Eating Thai food.
- Feeling grateful for fabulous friends.

Ahh, lovely 🙂 xxx
that sounds really nice! even the housework (it’s a good feeling having it all done). 🙂
What a lovely weekend round up (apart from the poor poorly baby bit…hope he’s feeling better soon). Catching up with old friends is wonderful – the months apart don’t make a scrap of difference with the good ones, do they?
@Rocaille Thanks hun xxx
@RMb It is a nice feeling when you can put your feet up because you’ve got it all out of the way… but then it always needs doing again eventually anyway!!
@Ondine I think Jesse is def on the mend. Just coughing like an old man with a 60-a-day smoking habit now! I totally agree about great friends. As soon as she arrived the fact I hadn’t seen her in ages was irrelevant.
