• Waking up in London. I attended a wedding industry event on Friday evening and was lucky enough to be driven back to my Mum’s flat in West London by the inimitable Emma {my favourite Wedding Reporter} and Anna {the brains behind Far From the Wedding Crowd}. Oh how we laughed!
  • Sipping tea and chatting with my Aunt who also happened to be using my Mum’s flat as a base from which to explore London with her son and his girlfriend. They live in Cornwall and we don’t see nearly enough of them so it was lovely catching up over breakfast.
  • Taking a taxi to Turnham Green tube station.
  • Finding a spot of sunshine to stand in while I waited for my lift back to Devon.
  • Remembering just how much I love London in the sunshine.
  • Watching the world go by.
  • Road tripping back to Exeter with Kate from Reverie Magazine {which I highly recommend you read}.
  • Snacking on M&S sushi.
  • Racing down our street, eager for hugs with Mr. LA and the children.
  • Collapsing on the sofa.
  • Feeling pensive.
  • Loving Izzy’s exhausted excitement as she returned from a Brownie trip to Plymouth. She regaled me with tales of her adventures as we cuddled sleepily on the sofa.
  • Chuckling as Izzy claimed the highlight of her day was eating pickled onion Monster Munch. Simple pleasures.
  • Settling down for an evening of wine and Thai food with my husband.
  • Watching ‘My Week with Marilyn’. Although I thought the film was incredibly weak in a number of ways {it had a crummy score and dragged at times} Michelle Williams’ performance as the blond bombshell was mind blowing.
  • Fighting the urge to stay up all night watching my vast collection of Monroe films.
  • Suspecting that cuddling up on the sofa to watch a movie with my husband may be my favourite way to spend a Saturday night. Not very rock and roll I know, but I love it.
  • Waking up in a daze, convinced it was Monday morning. I’d even started to drag myself off to the shower before I realised it was still the weekend.
  • Missing that extra hour.
  • Wearing tinted moisturiser and not a lot else. I decided to give my poor hayfever suffering eyes a break from mascara, and they were much happier for it.
  • Trying to watch Izzy’s drama class perform their end of term show. In reality I spent most of it outside in the hallway as Jesse refused to sit quietly. Gee, I love the toddler stage. Not.
  • Eating tuna mayo sandwiches.
  • Baking with Izzy while Jesse napped. We made Coffee Kisses from a recipe in The Great British Book of Baking. The fragrant biscuits were sandwiched together with chocolate buttercream and tasted delicious.
  • Sitting in the sunshine on our front step while Jesse played in the garden.
  • Heading to the playground across the street.
  • Watching Izzy on the monkey bars.
  • Stalking ladybirds.
  • Catching up on housework.
  • Making pie, french style peas and smashed carrots for dinner. I follow a Jamie Oliver recipe, but substitute the meat for quorn pieces and use vegetable stock to make it vegetarian.
  • Putting two very sleepy children to bed.
  • Listening to them stay awake for another hour. Curse British Summer Time for screwing with their body clocks.
  • Researching my next post for Love My Dress.
  • Feeling sleepy.
  • Fighting it for another hour, giving up, and then tumbling into bed and drifting off very quickly.
