- Waking up to a weekend of solo parenting. Mr. LA was off in London working on a shoot for a short film so it was just me and the children.
- Snuggling in my bed with the little ones.
- Finally heading downstairs when Jesse’s cries for breakfast {and my need for tea} became too much to bare.
- Enjoying a soothing bowl of porridge.
- Waiting for my online shop to be delivered. Thank you Mr Asda.
- Getting showered and dressed in a leisurely fashion.
- Loving No.7 Triple Protection Tinted Moisturiser. Worn with a little concealer {Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover is my current squeeze} and a light dusting of my trusty Chanel powder this delectable cream seems to give me flawless, glowing skin without looking overly made up.
- Dusting off the cream blush. Tinted moisturiser always seems to lend itself to the softer, flushed cheek of a cream product. I’ve been alternating between a couple of {now discontinued} shades of Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge and I love how healthy they make me look.
- Strolling into town with the children and heading straight to the Exeter Food Festival. This is the third year in a row we’ve been along and it’s always lots of fun. We wandered round slowly, sampling everything the stall holders had to offer. The children were in their element gorging on olives, cheese, chocolate and fudge. There’s little in the way of photographic evidence as I was far too busy eating to take pictures!
- Sitting in the sunshine to eat Mediterranean flat breads topped with chunky coleslaw, olives, chickpeas and sweetcorn. They were delicious.
- Watching the children decorate cupcakes.
- Watching the children smear cupcakes all over their faces.
- Losing Izzy in a field of scarecrows.
- Loading up the buggy with plenty of foodie treats. We bought cupcakes from Cakeadoodledo, some delicious jellies from Tracklements and a jar of Gratton & Oldridge Lemon Curd {it’s made with 80% lemon don’t you know}.
- Curling up on the sofa to watch My Fair Lady with Izzy.
- Spending the afternoon in the playground.
- Cooking and eating jacket potatoes. They were smothered in butter and topped with baked beans and cheese. Mmmmm… simple pleasures.
- Struggling to get Jesse to settle at bedtime. He is such a pixie, he just smiles and laughs at me the crosser I get. Deep breaths, count to ten…
- Collapsing on the sofa and watching old episodes of ER.
- Staying up far to late.
- Pining for my husband.
- Being woken by the children long after 8am. In my world this counts as an epic lie in.
- Enjoying french toast drenched in maple syrup for breakfast.
- Letting the children get very messy in the garden. Funny how something as simple as a large sheet of paper and some paint squirted in old baking trays can bring so much joy. They made 3 huge paintings with their feet and then had a ball splashing about in the bathroom when it was time to get cleaned up.
- Suspecting I could grow to love my new paint splattered decking.
- Eating lunch outside in the sunshine.
- Hanging out at the playground again.
- Dozing on the sofa while the children watched Oliver.
- Preparing a huge tray of roasted veg for dinner.
- Wondering why I ever bother to cook vegetables any other way. So tasty.
- Breathing a sigh of relief when the children were finally asleep in bed.
- Promising myself I’ll get a much needed early night.
