• Looking after Mr. LA.
  • Enjoying not having any uni work hanging over me (because the reading I have to do for my new modules that start on Tuesday doesn’t count).
  • Buying jewellery for my future MIL’s birthday. I picked out a beautiful bold necklace with purple and teal gems.
  • Shopping for party supplies. Isabel is taking a few girlfriends to see ‘Tangled’ at the cinema for her 6th birthday in a couple of weeks time. She chose some cute cupcake themed invitations and party bags from Paperchase. The girl has good taste.
  • Enjoying some tomato soup.
  • Loving my red hair.
  • Wondering where I misplaced my fashion mojo. My wardrobe needs a serious overhaul.
  • Helping Jesse play with his train set.
  • Taking Izzy to a birthday party. She picked out her own outfit (monsoon party dress with red sparkly tights AND red sparkly shoes) and asked me for a little lip gloss too. I put the teeniest tiny amount on her (because I don’t care for the whole 6-year-old-street-walker-look myself). I could tell that she instantly felt fabulous. Make-up junkie in the making perhaps?
  • Drinking far too much tea.
  • Eating too many chocolate truffles.
  • Collecting Izzy from the aforementioned birthday party. The term ‘sugar high’ springs to mind.
  • Making the children fried eggs and baked beans. I’ll ignore how much more enthusiastic they were about this dish in comparison to the lovingly prepared, cooked-from-scratch meals I usually present them with.
  • Bathing the children and tucking them into bed after reading another couple of chapters from The Twits. I love that I have an excuse to re-read my favourite childhood books! We’re going to make a start on Pippi Longstocking when we’ve finished this one.
  • ‘Helping’ Izzy with a few of the sweets in her party bag.
  • Cooking and eating the easiest chicken curry in the world. Fry some thin chicken strips in a little butter with 2 teaspoons of black onion seeds for 8-10 minutes. Stir in 2 tablespoons of tikka paste, 300ml of coconut milk and 200g frozen peas. Bring to the boil and then allow to simmer gently while stirring constantly for 3-4 minutes. Done. Yummy!
  • Snuggling on the sofa with the Mister.
  • Wishing Jesse would learn to sleep past 7am on a Sunday.
  • Watching Thomas the Tank Engine DVDs over and over and over again.
  • Loathing the spots that have appeared on my jawline. Hello hormonal breakout, I’ve been expecting you.
  • Agonising over our wedding budget.
  • Eating sausages and mash with lots and lots of gravy.
  • Worrying.
  • Booking the hotel for the night before and the night of our wedding. We’re staying here and I can’t wait!
  • Drinking hot chocolate.
  • Treating my skin to a much needed face mask.
  • Trying to persuade myself that I need an early night.
