• Being woken by Mr. LA as he left the house at 4am for a shoot in Brighton. Not. Impressed.
  • Falling back to sleep.
  • Being woken for a second time by the children.
  • Snuggling in bed with them for another hour.
  • Drinking tea and cooking fried eggs for breakfast.
  • Coaxing the children into clothes.
  • Marvelling at just how cute Jesse looks in his little red shorts.
  • Wrestling with Jesse and a bottle of SPF50. There are few things worse than trying to get sun cream on a toddler.
  • Wearing my favourite maxi dress.
  • Giving up on drying my hair for fear of overheating. I twisted it into a messy bun to air dry which gave me soft beachy waves by the time lunchtime rolled around.
  • Strolling into town with the children.
  • Picking up a lazy picnic {i.e all shop bought and ready made}. I just wasn’t in the mood to butter bread and argue over sandwich fillings.
  • Picking a good spot for a picnic.
  • Spending the whole day at the park. It was heavenly. The children played and grazed on the food I had laid out on the blanket while I sunbathed and chatted with other parents.
  • Watching Izzy play rounders with a huge crowd of her school friends.
  • Relishing the look of sheer joy on her face every time she hit the ball or made a home run.
  • Smiling when Jesse took my hand and said ‘this is SO cool Mummy, I love being park wiv’ you’.
  • Enjoying a cheeky beer in the shade.
  • Finally making our way home at around 5pm.
  • Discovering a random patch of pink skin on my back. This is what happens when you get a 7 year old to apply sun cream to the bits you can’t reach.
  • Cooking and eating chickpea curry, rice and naan.
  • Putting two very sleepy children to bed.
  • Marking my blog’s 3rd birthday with the obligatory blogiversary post.
  • Daydreaming about our honeymoon. This time in three weeks we’ll be in Koh Samui in Thailand. Without the children. Can. Not. wait.
  • Having a slight panic about how disorganised I am. I need to go bikini shopping asap.
  • Loving the sound of Mr. LA’s key in the lock. I’m always so glad to have him home.
  • Watching old episodes of Friends.
  • Falling asleep with the bedroom window open.
  • Wishing the children had let us sleep just a little bit longer.
  • Having a lazy morning.
  • Hating that Mr. LA was working again.
  • Wandering around town with Jesse while Izzy was at her usual Sunday morning drama class.
  • Eating more picnic food for lunch. Warm pitta bread dipped in Moroccan spiced humus. Yum.
  • Letting Jesse nap while Izzy played at a friend’s house.
  • Desperately trying to finish some chores I started weeks ago.
  • Heading to the park again.
  • Meeting up with Charlie and her family. I love watching our children play together.
  • Wondering if it was going to rain.
  • Taking the children home for some leek and potato soup.
  • Enjoying Izzy’s enthusiasm for my cooking. She had thirds of dinner and asked if I could make it again tomorrow.
  • Reading bedtime stories.
  • Longing for my husband to come home.
  • Baking lemon drizzle cake.
  • Trying to mentally prepare for the week ahead. I have SO much to do.
