• Waking up to bright blue skies and warm sunshine.
  • Making pancakes for breakfast.
  • Wearing too much black eye-liner.
  • Needing a hair cut and colour desperately.
  • Heading into town for a stroll around the craft fair on cathedral green.
  • Watching Izzy have her face painted like a black and white cat.
  • Sitting on the front step in the sun while the children zoomed up and down the road in front of our house on their wheelie toys. Izzy has a scooter and Jesse has a bumble bee {hands down one of the best toys we’ve ever bought}.
  • Hugging my Mum when she arrived with my bonus Dad for lunch.
  • Eating hot dogs followed by strawberries and clotted cream.
  • Dashing to town to buy a birthday present for one of Izzy’s friends.
  • Dropping Izzy at a fancy-dress party.
  • Enjoying my regular ESPA facial. I am so glad I’ve been able to save my pennies for this monthly treat. My skin thanks me every time and with my student discount it’s an affordable luxury.
  • Snuggling on the sofa with Jesse in front of My Neighbour Totoro {LOVE Studio Ghibli} while Izzy played in her bedroom and Carl cooked the children’s dinner.
  • Ordering Dominos.
  • Drinking wine and watching a movie. I found Buried incredibly depressing but there’s no denying it’s a clever idea well executed {the whole film takes place in a coffin… yup, really}.
  • Waking up full of excitement.
  • Feeling very proud while watching Izzy perform in her summer show. She was Old King Cole and she was brilliant.
  • Treating the children to a Hugg frozen yogurt in town. Izzy had hers with chunks of fudge and Jesse had blueberries.
  • Taking Izzy to another party. I swear she has a better social life than me!
  • Grabbing a bargain in the LK Bennett sale. The most perfect pair of coral suede heels. Gorgeous and £100 off the original price. I do love a bargain.
  • Wildly trying to catch up on housework.
  • Preparing food for a BBQ. It’s not something we do very often at all, not even in the summer months. We don’t have a particularly picturesque garden. We don’t even own any outdoor furniture. But sitting on a blanket on the deck with the children, eating delicious food with a glass of cold Crabbies in hand was quite wonderful.
  • Enjoying the Halloumi kebabs I made for Izzy and myself. I doused them in a mixture of 1tbsp olive oil/2 tbsp lemon juice/2 tsp fresh thyme leaves/1 tsp whole grain mustard and they were delicious.
  • Chuckling at Jesse sipping from Mr. LA’s beer.
  • Loving Haagen Dazs ice-cream. Pralines and cream with fresh strawberries. Mmmmm.
  • Putting 2 very sleepy children to bed.
  • Drinking a little more ginger beer and feeling very content.
