- Snuggling in bed with the children.
- Sipping tea and watching the Wizard of Oz.
- Making pancakes.
- Wishing we had some maple syrup.
- Loathing my hair. It needs colouring so, so badly.
- Strolling into town in the sunshine.
- Browsing local jewellers. We’re on the hunt for Mr. LA’s wedding ring.
- Eating pasties on Cathedral Green. This is one of my favourite spots in Exeter. The first summer we lived here, Izzy and I had picnics on the grass almost every day. She always used to toddle off and befriend random groups of tourists who were sat eating their lunch on the grass.
- Taking Izzy to *another* birthday party.
- Drinking tea, snoozing on the sofa, reading a magazine. Generally doing not a lot while Jesse played at my feet.
- Eating leftovers for supper.
- Listening to Izzy read The Worst Witch before bed.
- Drinking ginger beer and eating ice-cream while watching Dexter Season 4.
- Crying a little at the season finale. Didn’t see that one coming at all.
- Chuckling at the fact Jesse quotes the Queen song Radio Gaga in his sleep.
- Feeling sleepy.
- Taking Izzy to ANOTHER party. Quite the little socialite, no?
- Shopping for food.
- Baking blondies with Izzy while Jesse napped. They were yummy, kind of a cross between flapjacks and brownies.
- Eating too many blondies.
- Loosing count of how many cups of tea I had.
- Taking the children to the park.
- Loving the sound of Jesse’s laughter.
- Writing the story of Jesse’s birth, hopefully to be featured here in the near future.
- Cooking a very meaty dinner of Spanish chicken with chorizo and potato. It didn’t blow my mind but Mr. LA was in his element ripping the flesh off chicken thighs.
- Bathing the children.
- Blogging from my bed, where I intend to stay for the remainder of the evening.

Ha I LOVED the Worst Witch when I was a child – glad to see that children are still reading it today 🙂
Mr Lollipop makes Spanish Chicken (I’m assuming you followed Nigella’s recipe?) and it is really yummy, but we cook the chorizo separately so the chicken and potatoes don’t get too oily. Can’t be doing with oil lol
Izzy has a better social life than me! Lucky little thing.
You make motherhood sound wonderful – you will not fool me! 😉

Ditto to Laura’s comment above, I still have my Worst Witch books 🙂
I think Izzy has a better social life than most of us, hehe!
That birth stories website looks good, if they fancy a long one I could submit mine?! I contacted that lady from the tweet you retweeted, still umming and ahhing though!
Your weekend sounds lovely, I’m just about to upload a snippit of what I did too 🙂 xxx
As with the 2 comments above- I loved the Worst Witch! I read the books and watched the film so many times 🙂
Sounds like a lovely weekend!xx
That sounds like my kind of weekend! Baking, eating, lots of tea, watching the Wizard of Oz, what more could you want?! Well, diving into the Worst Witch, thats what! Many many moons ago when I was at primary school we had Book Week, and we all dressed up as our favourite book characters, and one year I went as the Worst Witch…which if I’m recalling correctly, no-one knew who I was. Harry who? its all about the Worst Witch!
But stunning pictures, you’ve captured the essence of your weekend beautifully, and it makes me want to go to Exeter….I love that part of the world, but havent been down south for a while so am much jealous of you having all that loveliness on your doorstep!
Yay! Lots of Worst Witch fans! Izzy loves it and it’s satisfying her craving for wizards and witches until she’s old enough to read Harry Potter.
@Lollipop Will def try doing the chorizo seperate next time, it was waaaaayyy too oily for my taste. I’m not great with meat on the bone though so chicken thighs never get me salivating.
@confusedbrit We’re very lucky to live in Devon, it’s truly wonderful in the summertime. You must come for a holiday!
