- Loving Saturday morning and all that goes with it. Slow start, epic cooked breakfast, leisurely cups of tea enjoyed on the sofa with the children, a looooong shower. Bliss.
- Hating my dissertation. I spent yet another Saturday away from my children writing the bloody thing. On the plus side, I’ve *almost* written 50%. The end can’t come soon enough.
- Wishing I was at the beach.
- Not bothering with make-up.
- Writing, writing, writing.
- Writing some more.
- Eating lunch on the front step in the sunshine.
- Cuddling two very sandy, sleepy children.
- Listening to tales of rock pooling. Apparently Izzy caught seven sea snails and a crab in her bright pink net.
- Making a lazy dinner for the children. I find when they’re that worn out, scrambled eggs on hot, buttery toast is the only way to go.
- Reading bedtime stories.
- Writing just a little bit more.
- Snuggling on the sofa with Mr. LA while eating a curry and drinking Crabbies ginger beer.
- Enjoying old episodes of Spaced. I <3 Simon Pegg. He’d totally be on my list.
- Staying up far too late reading Mini Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella. It is laugh-out-loud funny.
- Sleeping until 7.30am. It might not sound like much to most of you but anyone with small children will appreciate that this constitutes a mammoth lie-in. The little darlings were even kind enough to snuggle in bed with us for another half an hour. Heaven.
- Eating bacon and eggs.
- Madly tidying the house.
- Heading to the bus station to meet my Gran and two of her friends. They’re holidaying close by in Dawlish so decided to pop over to Exeter for a visit.
- Strolling through town to the river.
- Eating a delicious carvery at The Mill on the Exe {which I would highly recommend} outside in the sunshine.
- Marvelling at how well my Gran knows me. She bought me a multi-pack of double deckers and a brand new mug for me to drink all my many cups of tea from.
- Walking along the quay and eating an ice-cream.
- Heading home for a brew.
- Saying goodbyes.
- Doing the millionth load of washing. I swear, it never ends.
- Soaking up the last bit of sunshine in the garden with the children.
- Frowning in every photo taken of me.
- Feeling too full to eat anything else. {Until now that it, we’ve *just* ordered a take-away! Naughty, but well deserved I feel.}
- Blogging.
- Feeling full of anticipation. It won’t all be about my dissertation this week, I have a few adventures planned too. Newcastle, here I come…

You are doing so well with your dissertation, I really don’t know how you manage it! You can do it and the end will soon be here 🙂 xx
It sounds lovely, as always, and so busy! I feel like I’m not doing anything on the weekends compared with you 🙂 Take care, lovely x
What a lovely and productive weekend you’ve had! Result on the lie in. A lie in and cooked breakfast sounds like perfection to me! Have a lovely week x
oh my god….these sort of posts of yours always make me smile, but this one particularly because 1) I too <3 Simon Pegg and would quite happily sit and watched Spaced all day long if I could, followed by a Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz double bill. Also have recently re-read Mini Shopaholic...have read them all, and its one of my go-to comfort series of books to reread when I'm bored and out of books because I read them like other people eat lovely roast dinners i.e fast! But finally there's no present I'd like more than a bumper pack of double deckers and a brand new mug!
Lovely weekend, minus the writing. This too shall pass, as they say 🙂 Hang on…I think you’ve been saying that?!
The thought of all of that yummy food is making my mouth water, even though I’m still having a food baby after all of the naughty food I consumed over my birthday!
Your Gran knows you very well, that made me smile 🙂 xxx
Oops, forgot to say I love the photos, especially the one of Jesse 🙂 xxx
Lovely pics – your roast looks particularly nommy!

Not having read any blogs for bloomin ages, yours was right at the top of my list. Its always such a lovely place to visit 🙂 x
