• Missing the children. The bath time snapshot was taken on Friday evening as they passed through on their way to the other set of Grandparents. They’ll not be back until late on Thursday. Can. Not. Wait.
  • Studying. A lot. I passed 15,000 words on my dissertation this morning which felt good. With 75% written and less than 5000 words to go it’s feeling very achievable this evening.
  • Watching old episodes of Sex and the City.
  • Eating noodles and king prawns, lovingly prepared by Mr. LA.
  • Drinking pink wine and snacking on chocolate brownies.
  • Watching a documentary on the metal band Anvil. Mr. LA’s choice {obviously} but I actually quite enjoyed it and found myself willing the aging rockers to make it big by the end. It was all a bit Spinal Tap, very amusing.
  • Waking up earlier than a person should when there are no children in the house.
  • Leaving Mr. LA to lie in.
  • Drinking tea.
  • Writing about Kubrick’s ‘Full Metal Jacket’ for 3 hours.
  • Getting The Surfin Bird stuck in my head as a result. Thanks Kubrick, thanks a lot.
  • Having a good skin day. So good I went without foundation.
  • Strolling into town in the sunshine.
  • Falling out/making up.
  • Lusting after autumn/winter clothing in the shops. Try as I might, I just can’t bring myself to buy a thick, snuggly jumper on the 21st August.
  • Spending my birthday money at the Chanel counter.
  • Loving Graphite nail polish.
  • Lunching on toasted crumpets with marmite. Yummy.
  • Writing until my brain screams.
  • Looking forward to using the baking supplies my friend gifted to me for my birthday. I <3 polka dots.
  • Enjoying a big dinner, again cooked by Mr. LA. He really is keeping me nourished throughout this stressful dissertation-filled time.
  • Preparing for an evening spent relaxing {and not thinking about my dissertation} on the sofa.
