• Waking up with a severe case of champagne headache after celebrating my MA results with Mr. LA.
  • Drinking multiple cups of tea and eating a huge bowl of porridge with golden syrup.
  • Enjoying Lush’s Snow Globe soap. It smells like an amped up lemon sherbet. Incredible.
  • Slipping on my frock and beautifying myself in preparation for my friend’s wedding.
  • Wondering if Chanel illusion d’ombre in Illusoire worn with MAC Vex and Print is my favourite eye shadow combo ever.
  • Loving grey nail polish.
  • Waving goodbye to Jesse who was being looked after by my parents and heading to The Great Barn. Such a stunning wedding venue.
  • Feeling a little nervous about doing a reading during the ceremony.
  • Welling up as my beautiful friend walked down the aisle wearing her Candy Anthony dress and ruby red, sparkly heels.
  • Managing not to fluff my lines.
  • Loving the colourful wedding palette. The bridesmaids wore black dresses with coloured sashes that matched their bouquets, and each groomsman had a different coloured tie and pocket square. This rainbow of shades ran throughout their paper goods and was mirrored in the centrepieces at the wedding breakfast and their three-tiered cake.
  • Admiring the florals. I knew they would be good, the bride’s a florist after all {in fact, she’s doing the flowers for our wedding!}.
  • Letting off party poppers as the newlyweds emerged from the barn arm in arm.
  • Sipping champagne and nibbling canapes.
  • Catching up with old {and new} friends.
  • Marvelling at the ease with which children will strike up a friendship. Izzy and the bride and groom”s niece played together as if they’d known each other their whole lives.
  • Heading outside for a surprise firework display.
  • Enjoying the sight of almost 100 people twirling sparklers simultaneously in the dark.
  • Tucking into a delicious three course meal. There was a mezze sharing platter to start {great ice-breaker that got everyone chatting as they handed the food around} followed by roast beef and all the trimmings. The meat was carved by a different guest at each table which made for lots of fun. Pudding was wedding cake served with fresh berries and plenty of clotted cream.
  • Relishing a few glasses of red wine.
  • Looking on as Izzy made a home for herself on the dance floor. She barely left her spot for the entire evening. She danced to almost every song and many of the other guests did their best to emulate her interesting moves. She certainly pulled shapes.
  • Wondering if there is anything more wonderful than dancing on your Daddy’s feet.
  • Having fun in the photo booth.
  • Watching the bride and groom take to the dance floor for their first dance.
  • Having a bit of a boogie myself. I’ve got nothing on Izzy though.
  • Feeling quite tipsy.
  • Bubbling with excitement at the prospect of our own wedding {10 weeks people, 10 WEEKS!}
  • Taking a very sleepy little girl home.
  • Creeping in the house so as not to wake anyone.
  • Nursing a killer hangover.
  • Having the laziest of lazy days.
  • Eating a cooked breakfast… at around lunchtime.
  • Wishing Mr. LA didn’t have to go to London {again}.
  • Preparing Nigella’s praised chicken, a delicious, warming and generally life affirming meal. The ultimate in comfort food if you will.
  • Deeply inhaling the soothing scent emanating from my largest casserole dish {the use of which gives me the greatest pleasure} and indulging in kitchen daydreams about what I’ll do with the leftovers.
  • Watching the Wizard of Oz with the children while huddled together under a blanket on the sofa.
  • Feeling very content after eating a generous bowlful of chicken and brown rice topped with fresh dill and a smudge of English mustard.
  • Breathing a sigh of relief as the children finally bedded down for the night.
  • Planning an early night with a good book {currently reading One Day by David Nicholls, which I highly recommend}.
