• Waking up when Jesse clambered into bed beside us.
  • Drifting off to sleep again.
  • Heading downstairs for a cup of tea.
  • Lounging on the sofa while the children watched a movie.
  • Prepping food for a lunch party with our pals. I made Butternut Squash and Sweet Leek Lasagna for the adults and created a build-your-own pizza bar for the kids.
  • Eating hot, buttery raisin toast for breakfast.
  • Laying the table while Mr L.A. vacuumed upstairs.
  • Jumping in the shower.
  • Pulling on skinny jeans and my favourite Breton top.
  • Hurriedly applying my makeup and blow drying my hair.
  • Greeting our friend Sam at the door. He had cycled while the others had driven.
  • Sipping tea and catching up in the kitchen.
  • Welcoming Emily, Jack and Anna when they finally arrived.
  • Letting the children play before serving lunch.
  • Watching them choose their pizza toppings one by one.
  • Sitting down to eat.
  • Slicing into the Chocolate Olive Oil Cake I’d make the night before. It was delicious served with mascarpone and fresh raspberries.
  • Feeling very full.
  • Clearing the debris from the table and setting up a game of Castle Panic*.
  • Rushing to rescue the cards when a glass of water toppled over.
  • Switching to Sushi Go*.
  • Laughing a lot.
  • Wishing our friends didn’t have to leave.
  • Seeing them off at the door.
  • Collapsing on the sofa.
  • Listening to the children chatter while they ate omelettes for their tea.
  • Giving goodnight kisses.
  • Checking in with my mum on the phone.
  • Reheating leftovers for dinner.
  • Sipping a weak G&T.
  • Watching Passengers. Meh. I wasn’t impressed. Jennifer Lawrence looks nice in her white swimsuit though.
  • Retreating upstairs to bed.
  • Letting Mr L.A. lie in.
  • Snuggling on the sofa with Jesse in front of Pixar’s Planes.
  • Eating warm croissants for breakfast.
  • Resolving to spend the day in my PJs.
  • Watching Mr L.A. attach shiny, new copper handles to the cupboards in our front room.
  • Working on a few blog photos.
  • Feeling faint.
  • Agreeing to confine myself to the sofa for the rest of the day.
  • Eating beans on toast for lunch.
  • Relaxing at home with Jesse while Mr L.A. took Izzy to her drama class in Clifton.
  • Enjoying this article about Judith Kerr.
  • Hanging wet laundry up to dry.
  • Tidying the bathroom.
  • Giving my skin a little TLC with a quick cleanse followed by a generous application of my favourite Clarins facial oil.
  • Chopping carrot, onion and garlic for Hallou Chard and Lentils.
  • Listening to the rain.
  • Delivering dinner to the table just as the others arrived home.
  • Battling with Jesse when he refused to eat anything other than rice.
  • Resting on the sofa again.
  • Tapping away at my laptop while Izzy and Mr L.A. watch Death Note on Netflix.
  • Hoping for a week of minimal CFS symptoms.
