• Waking up to the news that we had run out of tea bags. Fuming.
  • Being sufficiently grumpy that the husband felt an early morning trip to the local Spar shop was necessary.
  • Wishing Mr. LA didn’t have to work.
  • Mourning the loss of my trusty point and shoot camera {hence the lack of photos in this post}.
  • Picking out a shiny new DSLR for my birthday this Friday. So excited to get to grips with my new camera when it arrives.
  • Watching Peter Pan with the children. Disney always makes for a good start to the weekend.
  • Eating porridge and sipping tea.
  • {Still} loving Lush’s Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner.
  • Wearing one of my favourite full skirts. Great for twirling in.
  • Accidentally giving Jesse a black eye. Before you call the NSPCC, let me explain. I flung a thick playing card towards the play room. He got caught in the crossfire. The corner hit him just underneath his left eye and it bruised immediately. I cried. He cried. There was much cuddling.
  • Running errands in town.
  • Treating Izzy to a new pair of sunglasses.
  • Buying gifts for our nieces and nephews. I picked books. Naturally.
  • Braving the supermarket for a food shop.
  • Making pesto, mozzarella and tomato wraps for our lunch.
  • Taking the rest of our picnic to the park.
  • Nibbling olives, reading Living Etc and daydreaming about decorating our new home {that we haven’t bought yet} while the children played.
  • Marvelling at how many blueberries Jesse can cram in his mouth at once.
  • Wandering home in the sunshine.
  • Watching the children lounge sleepily on the sofa.
  • Feeling inordinately proud of myself when I made mayonnaise from scratch.
  • Frying eggs for the children’s supper.
  • Preparing Californian Grilled Fish for us grown-ups. It was delicious, even if I do say so myself.
  • Drinking wine and watching ‘Vertigo’ with Mr. LA. We adore Hitchcock and wanted to rewatch this favourite in light of it winning the top spot in Sight & Sound’s Greatest Film Poll recently. Kim Novac and James Stewart are perfection. I’m desperate to find a way to get to the BFI’s Hitchcock retrospective later this month.
  • Lazily removing my makeup with La Roche Posay Micellar Solution before tumbling into bed.
  • Listening and watching thunder and lightening from our bedroom window.
  • Wishing Jesse had slept past 6.45am.
  • Enjoying long cuddles in bed.
  • Packing everyone off to the cinema so I could catch up on work.
  • Having a PJs and perfume kinda day. I might have looked like a slob, but I smelt good.
  • Eating a huge plate of pesto pasta and salad for lunch.
  • Trying to catch up on the washing. Always an impossible task.
  • Eating cupcakes and buttered popcorn while watching a movie with children.
  • Cooking Sunday dinner for what felt like the first time in ages. Oh how I’d missed roast potatoes and gravy!
  • Bathing the children.
  • Reading Cave Baby to my sleepy little boy.
  • Settling down for an evening of Olympic celebrations with Izzy and the Mr.
  • Loving every minute of the closing ceremony.
  • Singing and dancing along to the Spice Girls.
  • Laughing when my daughter told me to calm down and stop embarrassing her. Oh Izzy, you haven’t seen anything yet! 😉
  • Staying up far too late and drinking too much wine.
  • Asking Izzy if she felt inspired by the Olympics as I tucked her into bed. ‘Oh YES, Mummy. I’m going to be a ‘lympic swimmer you know’.
  • Finally collapsing into bed.
