• Waking up far too early for a Saturday morning. I’ve not been sleeping well at all these past few days and, although everyone has assured me it’s perfectly normal to feel a little anxious in the run up to your wedding {6 days to go!}, I’m a little fed up of feeling so sleepy and stressed.
  • Creeping downstairs to watch Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The opening credits of my favourite movie have an instant calming effect on me, much like a stroll past the famous jewellery store does for Holly.
  • Sipping tea and waiting for the rest of the house to wake up.
  • Eating fried egg on a hot, buttery muffin.
  • Madly checking my wedding ‘to do’ list every five minutes.
  • Enjoying a long shower.
  • Heading into town in the sunshine.
  • Dropping Izzy at a birthday party and window shopping at the vintage clothing stores nearby.
  • Taking Jesse to Wagamamas for lunch.
  • Making some last minute wedding related purchases.
  • Listening to Izzy read Matilda aloud.
  • Feeling very relaxed during a facial and back massage. Just what I needed, and my skin is glowing today.
  • Cooking and eating tray baked salmon with green beans, olives, tomatoes and anchovies.
  • Baking the last of our wedding cupcakes. After a quick twitter poll, I decided on Red Velvet. I made a double batch so we’d have some to eat right away, but the rest of those crimson beauties were stacked neatly in the freezer with a tub of cream cheese frosting, ready to be thawed and iced the day before the wedding.
  • Going through the wedding play list with Mr. LA and feeling overwhelmed by the urge to dance.
  • Eating a cupcake and snuggling on the sofa.
  • Both giggling at the thought that this is our last weekend as girlfriend and boyfriend.
  • Sleeping soundly.
  • Lying in.
  • Wondering where my appetite has gone. It’s not like me to skip a weekend breakfast at all. Another symptom of pre-wedding stress perhaps?
  • Wearing very little in the way of makeup.
  • Finally taking down the Christmas tree. Two days after twelfth night. What can I say? We like to live life on the edge.
  • Halfheartedly nibbling a slice of cheese on toast for lunch.
  • Smiling as I read messages and fielded phone calls from friends and family telling me how excited they are about next weekend.
  • Almost wishing I could stay in this moment forever. The anticipation is magical.
  • Taking the children to the park.
  • Loving the sound of their laughter.
  • Heading home for Sunday dinner.
  • Eating too much pie and mash.
  • Putting two tired children to bed.
  • Trying not to think about the fact it will all be over soon.
  • Very much looking forward to the week ahead.
