- Sleeping in. I had the pleasure of attending a wedding on Friday in my capacity as an associate writer for The Wedding Reporter. After 8 hours of extreme concentration, and almost 4 hours of travelling, I was exhausted. As Emma says, weddinglag is a thing.
- Waking up just as Mr. LA brought me in a cup of tea.
- Recounting my weird and crazy dreams to him as he perched on the edge of the bed.
- Heading downstairs for cuddles on the sofa with the children.
- Drinking tea and eating scrambled eggs on toast.
- Spending most of the morning trying to help my husband resolve a few work issues.
- Deciding we make a good team.
- Finally jumping into the shower.
- Pulling on my favourite red skirt and a crisp white t-shirt.
- Eating quiche and salad for lunch.
- Strolling into town in the sunshine.
- Watching the children at the park.
- Comforting Izzy when she fell off the climbing frame, spraining her wrist in the process.
- Collecting Mr. LA’s expensive new MacBook Pro.
- Picking up a few groceries on the way home.
- Making pop corn for the children.
- Snacking on giant chocolate buttons while watching The Sword in the Stone.
- Putting together some homemade southern style slaw using this recipe {minus the collard greens}. So good.
- Letting the sauce for pasta puttanesca {I use Delia’s recipe} bubble away slowly on the stove.
- Eating too much.
- Bathing the children.
- Listening to Mr. LA read Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs for what must have been the millionth time. Definitely one of Jesse’s favourites.
- Declaring it wine o’clock.
- Snuggling with Izzy on the sofa while she read a chapter from Danny The Champion of the World.
- Settling down to watch Now You See Me with Mr. LA. I enjoyed every minute, but my viewing partner found it a little predictable.
- Collapsing into bed.
- Sleeping in. Again. I know, he’s spoiling me.
- Wishing Mr. LA didn’t have to depart for London.
- Making fried egg sandwiches for breakfast.
- Trying not to think about the fact that we’re beginning another month in the same house. I never pictured us in Exeter for the start of autumn.
- Building the children a den. First inside, then outside.
- Watching them lounge under their blanket canopy, pretending to snooze and occasionally bursting into fits of giggles.
- Sneaking off for a quick shower while they played.
- Eating leftovers for lunch. FYI, the coleslaw tasted even better 24 hours on.
- Persuading the children to walk into town so I could pop to the supermarket for some essentials. OK, so I could buy cake.
- Buying cake.
- Spending the afternoon on the street in front of our house while the children made masterpieces with jumbo chalk. Jesse is a reluctant artist unless his canvas is the road beneath his feet.
- Drinking tea and reading Ideal Home magazine while Izzy watched Pollyanna and Jesse played with his toy animals.
- Feeling almost certain that we’ll go for the beautiful {but expensive} table in our new dining room. It shall be our one big spend for that room and I think I’ll paint our mismatched dining chairs glossy black like this too.
- Making scampi, chips and peas for supper.
- Missing Mr. LA.
- Coaxing the children into the bath.
- Reading bedtime stories and giving good night kisses.
- Pouring a cheeky glass of wine. You can judge if you want, but I needed it.
- Reading aloud to Izzy.
- Craving an early night.
- Hoping this will be the week we move house.
- Crossing my fingers and toes that the children have school places in Bristol before we get there too.

Your children are beautiful, and I know that good things will come soon to you – in your new home! Each delay is only allowing you another memory where you currently are. Good luck Franky! Love, an avid reader. X
Thank you for leaving such a lovely, lovely comment. I hadn’t thought of it like that before, but you’re so right.
