The Weekend The Weekend The WeekendThe Weekend The Weekend The WeekendThe Weekend The Weekend The Weekend

  • Waking up with a teeny tiny hangover. Mr. LA and I spent our Friday evening watching episodes of Nurse Jackie and drinking Cosmopolitans.
  • Cuddling up to Jesse in bed.
  • Dragging myself downstairs.
  • Drinking tea and reading Little Women on the sofa.
  • Tucking into a delicious veggie cooked breakfast.
  • Enjoying a long shower while the children played downstairs.
  • Slipping on my new favourite dress.
  • Bundling up and braving the cold to walk into town.
  • Shopping for books and pretty paper goods.
  • Over-indulging in literature.
  • Wandering home.
  • Warming up with a huge plate of pasta and pesto for lunch.
  • Sending a very excited Izzy off on a Brownie trip. A session at the local swimming pool followed by supper at Pizza Hut ensured she was pretty exhausted by the time we collected her at 6pm.
  • Reluctantly getting on with some work while Mr.LA entertained Jesse.
  • Cooking and eating homemade falafel burgers, fried halloumi and paprika potatoes.
  • Reading Jesse a bedtime story. Currently loving Dinosaur Farm and The Journey Home by Frann Preston-Gannon.
  • Getting comfy on the sofa ahead of movie night with Izzy.
  • Finally watching the concluding film in the Harry Potter series after waiting very patiently for Izzy to finish reading the last book.
  • Loving how much Izzy loves the Potter books, the world contained within their pages and the characters that reside their.
  • Thinking how wonderful it is that she admires Hermione Granger ‘because she’s smart’.
  • Retreating to bed.
  • Chatting to Mr. LA before drifting off to sleep.
  • Being woken by Jesse climbing into bed with us.
  • Loving my husband for letting me sleep in.
  • Drinking tea and eating marmite on toast.
  • Wishing Sundays didn’t have to involve quite so much laundry.
  • Sending Mr. LA to the supermarket for groceries.
  • Taking Jesse to a birthday party in his Darth Vader costume.
  • Secretly enjoying the fact he was the only child dressed as a bad guy. I love a good villain.
  • Helping with pass-the-parcel, stealing party food from Jesse’s plate and singing happy birthday.
  • Watching Jesse eagerly unpack the contents of his party bag.
  • Eating sandwiches for lunch.
  • Poring over the pretty ‘Little Guides’ {Trees and Wild Flowers} I bought for the children. Charlotte Voake’s illustrations are simply beautiful. I can’t wait to take these on a nature hunt in warmer weather.
  • Cuddling up on the sofa to watch a movie.
  • Listening to the children play as I prepared roast chicken for Sunday dinner.
  • Writing to a friend while the potatoes sizzled in their goose fat.
  • Making gravy and cooking the Yorkshires.
  • Eating too much.
  • Bathing the children.
  • Watching Izzy as she sprawled herself across the upstairs landing to read The Hobbit.
  • Cleaning the bathroom and mopping the kitchen floor.
  • Sitting down to blog for the first time in two weeks.
  • Looking forward to relaxing with Mr. LA.
  • Feeling rested.
