The Weekend The Weekend The WeekendThe WeekendThe Weekend The WeekendThe Weekend The Weekend The Weekend The Weekend

  • Being woken up before 6am.
  • Cuddling Jesse.
  • Trying to fall back to sleep.
  • Giving up and going downstairs.
  • Drinking tea on the sofa.
  • Eating omelet for breakfast.
  • Enjoying a long, hot shower.
  • Reclining on my unmade bed in my bath towel, desperately trying to find the motivation to get dressed.
  • Wearing a little leopard print.
  • Reaching for a coral coloured cream blush and one of my favourite Chanel lippys, Rouge Coco Shine in Flirt.
  • Bundling up in my coat and scarf.
  • Heading to the library.
  • Watching the children pick out a pile of books to take home.
  • Sitting cross-legged on the floor and reading aloud.
  • Feeling content.
  • Reluctantly dragging the children away.
  • Braving the supermarket.
  • Holding hands with Jesse all the way home.
  • Making popcorn.
  • Getting cosy under a blanket in front of a movie. We watched Rise of the Guardians and it was brilliant. Highly recommend.
  • Poring over old posts on Miss Beatrix. I’ve signed up for #postcircle, have you?
  • Cooking and eating kedgeree.
  • Bathing the children.
  • Huddling up with Jesse and flicking through a picture book together.
  • Lying on my bed and listening to Izzy read.
  • Giving goodnight kisses.
  • Sipping wine and eating chocolate.
  • Watching Grosse Pointe Blank.
  • Loving the 80s soundtrack.
  • Pondering which of my graduating class is most likely to have become a professional killer.
  • Wondering what happened to Minnie Driver.
  • Climbing into bed.
  • Reading Sense and Sensibility until my eyes grew heavy.
  • Being denied a lie in. Again.
  • Cuddling with Jesse and Mr.LA on the sofa.
  • Secretly reading on my Kindle while Jesse’s Studio Ghibli film played quietly in the background.
  • Drinking tea and eating toast.
  • Sending Izzy off to her Sunday morning drama class.
  • Catching up on laundry.
  • Daydreaming about new houses and renovation projects.
  • Feeling blue.
  • Making sandwiches for lunch.
  • Walking to the park.
  • Not enjoying the cold.
  • Watching the children play football with Mr.LA.
  • Retreating to the warmth of the house while they carried on playing.
  • Writing.
  • Hiding out in my bedroom. Sometimes you just need to be alone.
  • Preparing pie, roast potatoes and a mountain of green veg.
  • Thinking about my deep love of spinach.
  • Regretting the lack of gravy.
  • Slipping on my pyjamas.
  • Needing an early night and a better day tomorrow.
