- Spooning with Jesse, talking about the previous night’s dreams and trying to persuade him to stay in bed a little longer.
- Sipping tea and lounging on the sofa.
- Feeling sleepy. Half term really took it’s toll. Looking after the children alone and cramming work in while they slept has left me exhausted.
- Eating fried eggs for breakfast.
- Wasting time on Rightmove. Although, now our house is finally on the market {eeek!} I think I’m allowed to spend hours browsing property.
- Looking at homes we could never afford. Part daydream, part torture.
- Wishing Mr.LA didn’t have a Saturday morning business meeting.
- Listening to the children as they played downstairs.
- Enjoying a hot shower before pulling on skinny jeans and a cosy jumper.
- Cleaning the house ahead of the first viewings this week.
- Realising we live in a general state of low level squalor.
- Fantasising about being able to afford a cleaner.
- De-cluttering. By assessing everything in terms of whether I want to pack it when we eventually move I was able to sort 5 or 6 bags for the charity shop. It felt good to have a little life laundry. Really good.
- Snacking on jam toast for lunch.
- Cleaning some more.
- Relishing the peace and quiet that descended upon the house when Mr. LA took the children out for some fresh air.
- Reflecting on my efforts and loving the sight of the neat and tidy mantelpiece in our bedroom.
- Cooking and eating pasta risotto, salad and garlic bread.
- Bathing the children and wrestling Jesse into his bunk.
- Lying on our bed with Izzy while we both read.
- Giving goodnight kisses.
- Drinking wine, eating crisps and watching Seven Psychopaths.
- Heading to bed.
- Reading until my eyes were closing.
- Waking up alone.
- Coming downstairs to find Mr. LA dozing on the sofa with the children.
- Getting cosy under a blanket.
- Diving into Sense and Sensibility. I recently downloaded the Jane Austen Collection and I am very much looking forward to rereading my favourites. In fact, I sometimes think rereading is the best kind of reading.
- Packing Izzy off to her Sunday morning drama class.
- Deciding the day called for a pretty dress, some red lippy and Coco by Chanel.
- Playing make believe with Jesse.
- Loving the sound of my son’s laughter.
- Drinking imaginary tea and eating pretend cake.
- Doing laundry.
- Heating up soup for lunch.
- Enjoying the simplicity of buttered bread.
- Braving the cold to walk into town.
- Splurging on Neom candles in John Lewis.
- Stocking up on cleaning supplies.
- Wandering home slowly.
- Wishing I could watch Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with the children instead of scrubbing the downstairs loo.
- Taking a moment to appreciate our home. Although we’re ready to move on, I do love this place and feel very lucky to have spent the last 7 years here.
- Lighting candles, drawing the curtains and feeling cosy.
- Preparing veggie burgers for supper.
- Cleaning the bathroom while the children played.
- Listening to Mr. LA read The Tale of Jeremy Fisher with Jesse.
- Trying to avoid scrubbing the shower clean.
- Sending Mr. LA out for cocktail supplies. I couldn’t possibly watch the Oscars without a martini glass in hand.
- Tapping away at my laptop as Izzy reads snippets of Harry Potter aloud.

Sounds like a perfectly lovely weekend! Time spent with children, hubby, reading & a cocktail – all good things!
Very true. Shame about all the cleaning mind! xxx
