- Letting Mr. LA sleep in. Jesse came down with a virus on Thursday evening {yes, another one} so I tended to the invalid downstairs while he caught up on a little sleep.
- Cuddling on the sofa under a blanket.
- Drinking tea and watching The Wizard of Oz.
- Brewing coffee and coaxing my husband out of bed.
- Making smarties pancakes {follow this recipe, sprinkling a few of the sweets into the batter right before you flip them over}.
- Realising we needed a duvet day. Jesse was feverish, Mr. LA was coming down with the same bug, and I had started feeling pretty ropey too.
- Taking a long shower.
- Slipping into a fresh pair of pyjamas.
- Watching the children play.
- Marvelling at Izzy’s impressive waitressing skills.
- Eating beans on toast for lunch.
- Feeling thankful for giant rolls of drawing paper and colouring pens.
- Finishing a book.
- Browsing Oh Joy. So much pretty.
- Frying eggs for the children’s supper.
- Reading bedtime stories.
- Managing to get a dose of Calpol into Jesse.
- Looking on from the sofa as Mr.LA and Izzy played chess on my Kindle.
- Ordering pizza.
- Watching Martha Marcy May Marlene. Although it made me feel pretty uncomfortable, there’s no denying it’s a masterpiece. As my husband said, it’s very Kubrick-esque. Highly recommend.
- Feeling pretty rough. Cough, sore throat, aching all over. Got to love the common cold.
- Sleeping in.
- Moving from our bed to the sofa.
- Swallowing pain killers.
- Having a very, very lazy day.
- Thinking of a dear friend who’s having a tough time.
- Falling in love with The Language of Flowers after just a few chapters. I can’t wait to climb into bed later and carry on reading.
- Eating scrambled eggs for lunch.
- Losing myself in A Rosie Outlook for a few hours. It’s been a while since I discovered a new blog. This one drew me in immediately and I found myself scrolling back through old posts on and off for a few hours.
- Feeling particularly inspired by this and this.
- Buying another new book. One-click ordering on my Kindle is dangerous.
- Eating a blueberry muffin.
- Admiring the children’s building block cityscape.
- Taking part in the Big Garden Birdwatch. Well, I watched Izzy watch birds. Things were a little slow in our garden, and I was worried she’d lose interest before the hour was up, but she persevered and finally spotted four blue tits.
- Settling down to watch Annie with the children.
- Munching on pop corn.
- Doing chores.
- Loving Mr. LA for preparing dinner.
- Eating pie, mash and gravy.
- Bathing the children.
- Fielding questions from Izzy as she read the final chapters of The Secret Garden. Lots of long words to grapple with.
- Longing for a hot bath and an early night.

Lovely weekend despite the illness, I’m slightly jealous of the Dominoes it has to be said! I’m just about to run a hot bath and sink into bed for an early night myself – saw every hour on the clock last night with Jamie, and I am KNACKERED! xxx
I’m just trying to find the energy to actually run myself a bath. Seems like such an effort to take all the children’s toys out first!
I hope you get some rest tonight and that Jamie sleeps a little better.

Thankyou so much for your kind comments about my blog, I’m really glad you enjoyed reading it! Really sorry to hear that you and the family are feeling under the weather this weekend, sounds like you’ve had a nice relaxing one to try and blast it away though. You have me craving beans on toast now, yum! xo
