- Wondering why, after days of sleeping late, Jesse decided to wake me at 6am, the morning after I’d stayed up till midnight and demolished a bottle of red wine single-handedly.
- Fumbling my way downstairs while half asleep.
- Dozing on the sofa while Jesse watched The Rescuers.
- Sipping tea and waiting for Izzy to wake up.
- Missing my husband.
- Making breakfast.
- Taking a swift shower.
- Wearing coral coloured blush and lipstick, and feeling instantly more cheery as a result.
- Excitedly letting the children watch CITV’s Old Skool Weekend. They were mesmerised by Supergran.
- Feeling crestfallen when Izzy described my childhood as ‘the olden days’.
- Making a huge vat of incredibly disappointing soup.
- House hunting. Rightmove and Zoopla are my latest obsession.
- Wandering over to Fiona’s. Hallum and Jesse are at pre-school together and Esme is simply adorable.
- Eating biscuits and drinking tea.
- Watching the children play together.
- Walking home at twilight.
- Admiring the sky, counting clouds and pointing out the scariest looking shadows.
- Running away from imaginary dragons.
- Grabbing a lazy supper from the local Spar shop. Sometimes you just need pasta and a stir-in sauce!
- Putting two sleepy children to bed.
- Waiting patiently for Mr.LA to arrive home.
- Curling up on the sofa in front of Fawlty Towers.
- Heading to bed.
- Lying awake.
- Sleeping in.
- Having a dull, but productive day.
- Scaring my husband with my ‘let’s get STUFF done’ attitude.
- Taking down the Christmas decorations and clearing away the carnage left by the tree.
- Strolling into town to do some boring shopping. Cleaning materials and new storage. Yawn!
- Phoning estate agents. We’ve got one coming to value the house on Tuesday. Eeeek!
- Making proper popcorn with Jesse. Mr. LA heated the oil on the stove and Jesse dropped the kernels in before eagerly listening out for all the popping.
- Cooking and eating pie, mash and gravy.
- Hanging up Jesse’s first drawing of a face for all to see.
- Feeling sleepy.
- Trying to mentally prepare for the inaugural school run of the year tomorrow.
