- Letting Mr.LA lie in.
- Watching old cartoons with the children. It’s been ages since I’ve seen any classic Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck. Vintage Disney is truly wonderful.
- Catching up with my brother-in-law who was staying with us for the weekend.
- Sipping tea.
- Skipping breakfast.
- Enjoying a long, hot shower.
- Slipping on a favourite red dress.
- Wearing a beret, much to my husband’s amusement.
- Braving the wind and rain to visit Exeter Christmas Market.
- Feeling a little underwhelmed. While there was some delicious food on offer, the market lacked the festive feeling I had hoped for. The truly miserable weather didn’t help matters either.
- Eating bratwurst and sauerkraut in the pouring rain.
- Desperately searching for some new winter boots. Ballet pumps just won’t cut it in this weather.
- Retreating back to the house.
- Drying off and warming up.
- Feeling cosy in my Primarni PJs.
- Being generally lazy all afternoon.
- Making supper for the children.
- Listening in as Jesse was read to by his Uncle.
- Drinking wine and making dinner.
- Dancing round the kitchen to Florence & the Machine.
- Enjoying Jamie Oliver’s Asian Style Salmon.
- Watching ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’. Easily the biggest turkey we’ve watched in a while.
- Eating too many Haribos.
- Retiring to bed.
- Listening to the wind and rain.
- Sleeping in.
- Eating porridge and sipping tea.
- Catching up on the latest flood news.
- Staying in my pyjamas.
- Relishing the peace and quiet of an empty house.
- Writing.
- Preparing soup and toasted bagels for lunch.
- Clearing a cupboard of clutter. I’m craving a bit of life laundry at the moment. It took me two hours to organise one shelf out of a possible three. Still, it’s a start!
- Roasting a chicken for Sunday dinner.
- Feeling comforted after potatoes, yorkshire puddings and gravy.
- Bathing the children.
- Reading bedtime stories.
- Drinking diet coke, eating a wispa and writing a blog post.

Go to the market of an evening lovely-when it’s dark and all lit up it looks far prettier. Plus you don’t feel as cheeky sipping on a mulled wine in the dark!! xxx
I can imagine it’s more festive when it’s all lit up. I think not having any mulled wine was probably where I went wrong! xxx
That J.O Asian style salmon is a favourite in our house – so tasty yet so easy! Soup and a toasted bagel sounds like perfect autumn/winter lunching food too. x
Honestly, I think I’m addicted to onion bagels! Especially toasted and covered in butter. Such good comfort food. xxx
Sounds like another blissful weekend! You always cook such delicioius meals-the Asian salmon recipe has now been bookmarked for a midweek dinner 🙂
Your weekends always sound so cosy! I’ll have to try the asian style salmon if I can get the ingredients here…Imagine, I have to go all the way to Ikea just to get salmon!
I love these segments in your blog!! Your family is just so cute. What wonderful memories you’re making with them. Your weekends often inspire mine! 😀
