- Enjoying a much needed lie in. I spent most of last week feeling a little run down, like I was brewing a bug. Thankfully it never surfaced, but I still relished the opportunity for a bit of extra sleep.
- Eating an omelet and sipping tea.
- Taking a lengthy shower. I seem to have accumulated a rather substantial collection of delicious products recently and I’m thoroughly enjoying scrubbing away, lathering up and washing all over with them each morning. Lush’s Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner deserves s special mention. Hefty price tag, but oh it’s divine!
- Wearing minimal makeup.
- Taking the train to Dawlish Warren.
- Loving the look of sheer joy on Jesse’s face when he sees a real train {‘Look Mummy, it’s Diesel, just like Thomas Mummy, CHOO CHOO clickety clack Mummy!}
- Inhaling the sea air. The Londoner in me often forgets we live so close to the sea. Even on a grey, drizzly day Devon’s coastline is pretty spectacular.
- Walking along the coastal path to Dawlish, flanked by railway tracks on one side and the water on the other.
- Heading on to the sand and watching the children hunt for treasure. Amazing how magical a particularly nobbly stone or shiny shell can seem to little ones.
- Chasing waves.
- Paying far too much for some fairly grim fish and chips. It was comical actually. How bad it was, I mean. Mr. LA and I kept getting the giggles. It was as if we’d walked into the Fawlty Towers of seaside cafes.
- Wandering around the arcades.
- Riding the train back to Exeter with two very sleepy children.
- Arriving back at the house and discovering my new boss had made a small announcement 😉
- Celebrating with a cream tea. Warm scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam. Heaven.
- Continuing the children’s 80s educuation with a screening of E.T. I loved seeing Izzy mesmerised by the magic of the film’s final scenes. As predicted, she had a wee cry when she thought the alien had died, but then so did I!
- Tucking two tired children into bed.
- Snuggling on the sofa with my husband, a bottle of wine and some chocolate coated peanuts.
- Thoroughly enjoying ‘Water for Elephants’. Fabulous film with divine costumes. It made me want to run away to the circus, but in the 1930s and as a blond.
- Collapsing into bed.
- Waking up very slowly.
- Spending far too long in my pyjamas, on the sofa, drinking tea {but that’s what Sundays are for, no?}.
- Making the most of a solo shopping trip.
- Picking up a gem of a top in Zara. Love it.
- Being defeated by a murderous headache.
- Retreating back to the house for painkillers and a lie down.
- Blitzing the mess in our bedroom, making a dent in the washing, overseeing some hoovering and clearing my favourite clutter dumping spot.
- Trying not to be offended when Mr, LA asked me if I was pregnant. ‘But you’re nesting’ he said, with a glint in his eye, implying I clean only when I’ve a baby on the way. Which is twice. In my whole life. Cheeky sod.
- Cooking and eating a roast dinner.
- Bathing and bedding the children.
- Slurping hot chocolate while blogging.
- Feeling very nervous and more than a little excited about the week ahead. Two trips to London, lunch with a top wedding blogger {a.k.a my new boss} and observing my first professional photoshoot. Wish me luck?

A divine sounding weekend, I love trips to the coast, they always blow the cobwebs away too! I’m slightly hankering after a cream tea now though…I need me something to celebrate 😉 That top will look lovely on you too, but shame about the headache to ruin things, tut tut! Very excited about the London trip, you WILL be wonderful and it’s all going to go perfectly well! Looking forward to hearing about it xxx
