- Waking up to the sound of Jesse marching into our bedroom at 6.45am.
- Guiltily sitting the children in front of a DVD while Mr.LA and I went back to bed for half an hour.
- Sipping tea on the sofa under a blanket.
- Cursing our broken boiler.
- Eating an omelet for breakfast.
- Luxuriating in the shower. Currently loving Lush Blousey Shampoo {in a big way, worth every penny of its extortionate £18 price tag}, REN Moroccan Rose Otto Bodywash and Oskia Perfect Cleanser.
- Wandering to town in the sunshine.
- Treating the children to lunch at Bill’s. This was our first time at the recently opened restaurant and we’ll definitely be going back. Fabulous atmosphere, friendly staff and really good food. We demolished a sharing platter and some skinny fries. Delicious.
- Umming and ahhhing over whether to buy this beautiful Zara coat.
- Heading home for an afternoon of movie watching and popcorn eating.
- Building {another} den for the children. This time their bunk beds were transformed into a spaceship. Then a pirate ship. Then just somewhere to hide from imaginary monsters.
- Poring over my latest recipe book purchase. So far I’m loving Nigellissima and can see many of the recipes within becoming firm family favourites.
- Cooking and eating ‘Quick Calabrian Lasagna’. Layers of rich meat sauce and pasta interspersed with boiled eggs, ham and mozzarella cheese. Perfect comfort food for a chilly Autumn evening.
- Putting the children to bed.
- Trying to work but failing to concentrate.
- Watching Breaking Bad and drinking hot chocolate.
- Collapsing into bed.
- Being woken up by Jesse. Again.
- Despairing at my lack of weather appropriate atire. My wardrobe hasn’t quite caught up with the change in seasons yet. I need jumpers, boots and a winter coat asap.
- Doing an hour of work while alone in the house.
- Listening to the rain beat against the windows.
- Heading to the hairdressers for a cut and colour.
- Not realising I had holes in my shoes until my feet got {very} wet.
- Drinking too much tea and reading trashy magazines at Toni & Guy.
- Loving my freshly coiffed locks.
- Spending a peaceful afternoon in the kitchen.
- Sitting down for a huge meal. We ate Nigella’s ‘Italian Roast Chicken with Peppers and Olives’ followed by apple and plumb scrumble drenched in lashings of custard {or cake gravy as my children prefer to call it}.
- Reading Jesse a bedtime story.
- Watching Izzy engrossed in her Harry Potter book on the sofa.
- Making myself a cup of tea and settling down in front of my laptop.

Lovely weekend. That food all looks scrumptious.
Also glad you mentioned Blousey as am umming and ahhing about trying it out xx
Well I adore it. It’s in the wrong packaging though, too runny for a tub so you have to be careful not to waste any when you’re scooping it out. Leaves my hair incredibly soft. I haven’t been using any styling products at all since I switched and my hair has been lovely and sleek but with loads of volume.
Can’t comment on the lasting power in terms of my colour yet though, but I’ll keep you posted.

Definitely going to try out the scrumble! Love these posts as always every week 🙂 xxx
Oh you must! I cannot wait to tuck into the leftovers at lunch time! xxx
Good God woman, I’m drooling here! Love your weekend posts xx
Haha! Sorry about that 😉

Another one unsure of Blousey. My fine, thin locks need something and i’m considering it the price tag makes me nervous.
Haven’t purchased Nigellissima yet either but it definitely tops my list. Wonderful post as always Franky xx
It is very, very expensive. I would suggest you try a sample first if you can. My hair is fine in texture, but I have a lot of it. It definitely feels volumised after I wash it, but it is very rich so hard to know how it would perform on your hair Mandy. Hope you get your hands on Nigellissima soon, it’s brilliant.
