• Being woken up far too early. My hopes for a lie in were scuppered when Jesse clambered into bed with us at 6am and demanded breakfast.
  • Sipping tea while curled up under a blanket on the sofa.
  • Eating an omelet and hot buttery toast.
  • Taking a long, lazy shower.
  • Dressing for Autumn. After slipping on a much loved LBD, I dug out my thick black tights and a cardi. Although I adore summer, it’s always nice to let that cosy feeling begin to wash over you at this time of year.
  • Being thankful for Spanx and eyeliner.
  • Packing Izzy off on a play date.
  • Working.
  • Enjoying soup and onion bagels for lunch.
  • Begrudgingly getting on with some housework. My least favourite thing in the world.
  • Cooking a huge vegetarian spaghetti bolognese.
  • Wishing Mr. LA hadn’t burnt the garlic bread. It was homemade and everything.
  • Consuming my own body weight in food.
  • Reading Jesse a bedtime story.
  • Watching Izzy sprawled out on the sofa reading Harry Potter.
  • Writing.
  • Settling down in front of a DVD with a bottle of ginger beer. My current favourite tipple is Ginger Beard by Wychwood Brewery. Much more fiery than my usual Crabbies.
  • Feeling massively underwhelmed by Tim Burton’s latest offering, ‘Dark Shadows’.
  • Giving up and going to bed. Not even Jonny Depp could keep me interested, it was that dull.
  • Being woken up far too early. Again. Suffice to say, Jesse wasn’t my favourite person this weekend 😉
  • Tucking into fried eggs on toast for breakfast.
  • Eating a double decker and sipping tea from my favourite mug while I worked.
  • Daydreaming.
  • Reheating leftovers for lunch.
  • Wandering to the river in the sunshine.
  • Loving the sight of my children walking hand in hand.
  • Catching a glimpse of a dragon boat race.
  • Browsing the antique shops at the quay.
  • Chasing Jesse on the grass.
  • Heading back to the house.
  • Baking lemon drizzle cake.
  • Saying the wrong thing about Mr. LA’s DIY skills. Ooops.
  • Finally catching up on the washing.
  • Cooking and eating Spanish pot roast chicken, the recipe for which can be found in my beloved Leon: Naturally Fast Food Book 2. Perfect autumn fare that filled the house with the most amazing scent.
  • Putting the children to bed.
  • Missing London friends.
  • Deciding tea and cake at half past eight is a perfectly acceptable thing to do.
