Who would have thought the humble lemon could be such a potent beautifier?! I mentioned the other day that Dove gradual tanner had turned the tips of my nails a rather fetching shade of yellow. It was staring to look as if I had a serious case of ‘smokers fingers’…. gross. I decided to give my nails a bit of much needed TLC and dug out one of my favourite LUSH products, Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter. Not only is this yummy balm incredibly good at softening your cuticles (and hard skin of any description for that matter) the lashings of lemon juice contained in each pot actually helps whiten your nail tips too. I gave my nails a bit of a trim and have been applying this as often as possible throughout the day. I’ve definitely noticed a vast improvement in the condition and colour of my nails. Moreover, this product smells sooooo good that it’s a joy to use! The scent is very uplifting and summery, it reminds me of lemon meringue pie!
Lemony Flutter is great for softening hard skin on your feet, knees and elbows too. For a bit of pampering I sometimes scoop a generous handful of this and mix it with Ocean Salt Face Scrub. I then apply this to dry feet, scrub and rinse. It makes for an incredibly delicious exfoliating treatment! I think a pot will set you back just over £5 but it’s one of those items that will last a really long time as it’s so rich and melty that you only need to use the teeniest amount of product.
