Some new favourite things.
I was sent the beautiful ‘Gabrielle’ Turquoise Hoop Earrings by Anusha Boutique, an online store that overflows with pretty.
With only 7 weeks to go until we jet off to Thailand for our honeymoon, my mind is totally preoccupied with holiday attire. Although I’m yet to buy a new bikini and the search for the perfect wide brimmed hat continues, I know these beauties will be coming with me and getting plenty of wear. They’ll be perfect for hot and sticky nights at the bar. I’ll wear them with my sea salty hair scraped back in a bun, a simple maxi dress and the beginnings of a tan.
I can loose myself for hours while browsing Anusha’s selection of jewellery and I’ve already added a pair of ‘Sunda’ Labrodite Earrings and the ‘Georgie’ Antiqued Sparrow Necklace to my wish list.
These pretty coral and gold studs were a leaving gift from work a few weeks back. They’re from a lovely little local jewellers called Silver Lion. I highly recommend you stop in for a browse if you’re ever in Exeter. The store can be found on Gandy Street, a delightful haven for small, independent businesses {at least it was, White Stuff and Jo Jo Maman Bebe have tainted its status a little}.
Rumour has it the cobbled street was the inspiration behind J.K Rowling’s Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter books. She was a student at Exeter University you see. Izzy likes to remind me of this each time we wander down the narrow street. I’m almost certain she pretends she is Hermione Granger every step of the way. If you stroll right to the street’s end you’ll find the local arts centre, The Phoenix. They do a decent cup of tea, and there’s often cake too.
Anyway, I digress.
I tend to favour small, understated earrings on a day-to-day basis as they’re less tempting for little hands that like to yank and pull at shiny things. I find the simplicity of a pair of studs also tricks me into feeling chic and well groomed. These are truly beautiful on. I’m not ashamed to say I match my blush and lipstick to their bright coral hue whenever I wear them.
What adornments are you loving at the moment? Do you favour the simplicity of a pair of studs, or do you like to weigh your lobes down with something a little more imposing?

I have to say that both of those earrings are to die for – total gorgeousness!
I’m definitely more of a studs girl in the day, although my eclectic taste in jewellery means I’m far from the sort that would make me feel chic and groomed! However, my magpie eye goes for earrings big and dangly when its time for a soiree either of day or night varieties, and then I do feel much more elegant!
And I had to smile when reading the bit about Izzy and you thinking that she’s Hermione. Just today the eldest niece announced that she would definitely be friends with Hermione if she was at Hogwarts. I think thats because she also sort of thinks she is like her….bless the pair of them!
So glad you like them 🙂
I know what you mean about eclectic taste, I could never commit to one or the other when it comes to earrings. A sparkly pair akin to chandeliers are definitely my preference for parties!
Sounds like your niece and Izzy would get on so well!

the studs look awesome!
I love those hoops! They remind me of Indian jewellery x
Those coral studs are gorgeous. I don’t have my ears pierced but I know if I did earrings would be a hug weakness of mine!
