Dress: Warehouse, silver necklace (worn as a bracelet): Topshop, sandals: French Connection, beaded clutch and earrings: Accessorize.I love this dress, I really do, it’s just that I didn’t get to wear it the way I wanted to. The tan heels I took with me looked so wrong with this outfit when I tried them on, not the right style of shoe at all. My favourite silver sandals from French Connection were the only other option I had available to me but I would have preferred a little height, particularly as this was the outfit I wore for an evening alone with Mr. LA.
We ate in the hotel and watched another performance of Balinese dancing. It was a fabulous evening, especially the post dinner mojitos in the hotel bar! The pictures below are a little blurry (blame the poor lighting as it was after sunset and the dancers were obviously moving) but I think you can get a feel for the performance. I think the dances we saw were my favourite aspect of the Balinese culture we encountered, they were so vibrant and colourful and the stories they depicted were all so powerful.

Try to ignore the fact my legs are so pale in the last picture they almost glow in the dark. Instead marvel at the spectacular costumes, don’t the women look amazing?

Love the dress. Gorgeous photos too, Bali has such a rich heritage!
Gorgeous photos, I love this dress 🙂 Stop apologising for your pale legs Mrs, you look fab – and I am chronically pale, so it makes me feel better, hehe 😉 x x x
Love the dress – looks like a fun evening! x
That dress is so pretty! I personally love the shoes with it. Looks like a fab evening! xx
Lovely photos! That dress is darling, and I love the sandals. (Also, necklace as a bracelet? Genius!) The dancers look amazing. The colors in those costumes, just wow.
I agree with Laura, please stop apologizing for being pale. I’m fair, and I bet a lot of your readers are too ;).
I spent two years living in Thailand, where the national costumes are similar to Indonesian and I LOVE the colours and unashamed glitz and trinketry!
xx Charlotte
@elephant juice Thanks hun. It certainly does, I really enjoyed learning a little about the culture and history while we were there.
@Laura Us pale girls have got to stick together 😉
@BBB It was indeed a very fun evening! Especially as it was child-free! Thank goodness for the hotel babysitting service!
@Lollipop Glad you like it! They’re my fave pair of sandals so I do like the combination it just wasn’t the image I had in my head at the time. Just being my usual fussy self I guess!!
@Casee Marie Thank you my lovely! Th epictures don’t do the dancers justice to be truthfull, the colours were even more spectacuar IRL.
@honeyball You’re right, I’m sorry. I actually love being pale. In countries like Bali and Thailand women aspire to have skin as milky white as us and spend vast sums of money on skin whitening products which just goes to show how different people’s perceptions of beauty can be. Let’s embrace the pale, it is the new tanned after all!!
@Charlotte Thailand is my absolute favourite place in the world EVER!I’m jealous of your lengthy stay. I too adore the colours and culture of the country, so visually stimulating and awe inspiring.
