We’re currently enjoying a run of gorgeous spring weather here in the U.K. Devon is simply heaven in the sunshine. I love it. Yesterday I took the 30 min train journey to the coast with the children. We wandered along the beachfront and had tea and cake in the sun. It was wonderful. Obviously, I looked no where near as glamorous as Marilyn does in this photograph (and it’s not quite warm enough for a swimsuit yet anyway) but I did relish wearing some cute ballet pumps, my sunglasses and no jacket. Very liberating after a winter spent in boots, thick coats and gloves.

However, I did appreciate that my body is no where near beach ready! I have made a mental note to step up the grooming in preparation for the onset of summer. Exfoliating, a bit of body brushing, tons of moisturiser and some subtle fake tan (I like being pale but would rather be milky white than blue) are all essential. As is a pedicure. I can’t even begin to enjoy my summer shoe collection until I have given my tootsies some much needed TLC. What do you do to get ready for warmer weather and the need to expose more flesh than you have done in months?!

I intend to spend this evening recovering from a busy morning at work and an afternoon trundling round the shops with the children (while desperately trying to get baby Jesse to keep his sun hat on for more than 2 seconds). I went looking for some new skincare for me and sun cream for all of us. I found the selection on offer in Boots overwhelming… factor this, factor that, apply once, spray, cream, invisible spray, lotion, cream for children, cream for babies…. the list goes on! Honestly, sometimes too much choice can be a bad thing!

I’m going to relax with a cold Corona beer and the obligatory wedge of lime. Tastes like summer in a bottle to me and it reminds me of when Mr. LA and I first met. I’m looking forward to pampering my skin a little with the new skincare treats I picked up earlier. What glamorous happenings do you have planed for this evening ladies?
