I’ve been baking this evening. A white chocolate and almond cake to be precise. I manged not to burn mine, unlike the gorgeous pin-up pictured above.
I’m still in my work clothes (black and white bow print dress from Dorothy Perkins and black tights… yea, the sunshine caught me by surprise) but I do have my very glamorous apron on. It has a picture of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s on the front.
I’m going to try and make time for a face mask before I head to bed this evening. My skin really needs some TLC at the moment. Our visitors are arriving tomorrow morning and there’s still a whole heap of housework to get through before they do so I need an early-ish night!
The weather is supposed to be heavenly down here in Devon this weekend so I’m hoping for trips to the park and river and lots of outdoor drinking and eating as well as the obligatory muddy baby after hours in the garden!

Ooo, that cake sounds delicious! Any ideas for a foolproof, quick birthday cake bake? It’s Colin’s birthday tomorrow, and I have about a 2 hour window whilst he’s at work in the morning to bake!
The weather is supposed to be lovely, we’re having a big family BBQ for his birthday tomorrow, so fingers crossed the weather will be perfect for it 🙂

You can’t go wrong with a simple victoria sponge. I’d get propper whipped cream and strawberrys for the filling. Yummy!!
