Long time readers of Loveaudrey might remember a regular series I used to run called ‘Friday Night Glamour‘. It was a simple idea. I posted an image of someone glamorous and inspiring for you all to gaze at while I rambled on about my plans for the evening and weekend ahead. The series eventually fizzled out, but I was reminded of it last night as I got ready for a {very} rare night out with my beau.

Even though I had to juggle getting dressed with bathing the children, my makeup had to be plastered on in under 10 minutes and my nails had to be left bare because a mani was out of the question, I still felt more glamorous than I have in a very long time as I tottered off to the restaurant on Mr. LA’s arm. The power of a great dress and a pair of fabulous heels never ceases to amaze me.

I’m a little bit in love with my new belt from Hobbs. It was purchased alongside an incredible skirt that makes me feel like Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday. As soon as the sun comes out I’ll be dragging my husband and his camera out to take pictures of me twirling about in it. It’s definitely a skirt that deserves sunshine and twirling.

Here’s a glimpse at my hastily applied makeup. Nothing particularly groundbreaking, but I felt pretty, and that, dear readers, is what it’s all about, noh?

Just in case you’re interested/as nosey as I am, here’s a list of the products I used {one handed, while simultaneously making the kids spaghetti hoops on toast}…

Face / Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation, Estee Lauder Double Wear Max Cover {worn as concealer}, Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre, NARS blush in Sin, Dior Shimmer Powder in 001 Rose Diamond

Eyes / UDPP, MAC eyeshadows in Phloof and Quarry, random dark brown shadow from a Chanel quad, Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in Illusoire, MAC Power Point Eye Pencil in Grey Utility, Max Factor Masterpiece Max mascara

Lips / No. 7 Perfect Lips Pencil in 20 Nude, Laura Mercier lipstick in Audrey

Unfortunately, our evening was cut short when the babysitter phoned to say Jesse was up and running amok in the front room rather than sleeping soundly in his cot. Still, we ate calamari and risotto, and I had two large glasses of red wine, so the evening wasn’t a total loss.

How did you spend your Friday night? Was it thoroughly glamorous?! I do hope so…
