Yesterday evening I joined a friend at the Northcott Theatre to watch a performance of Beauty and the Beast by Ballet Cymru. I can’t say it was the best example of this particular form of dance that I’ve ever seen {my mother spoilt us with trips to Sadlers Wells as children} but it was a welcome touch of culture nonetheless. Besides, there was wine and the evening provided a welcome opportunity to dress up.
I’m in love with my new, slightly cropped skinnies from Zara, so much so that I’m tempted to purchase them in every colour. You can’t quite tell from the pictures {hastily snapped in the one corner of the front room not buried under toys, while attempting to bundle the children into bed} but they’re zipped at the ankle, a stylish detail which I love. I wore them again today and they look equally fabulous with flats. £25 well spent if you ask me.
I’d totally forgotten about this sparkly bag. I first used it at my 21st birthday party which makes it practically vintage if you ask me!I’ve been showing my Chanel Mystic Eyes quad a lot of love recently. Last night I decided to pair it with MAC Hibiscus on my lips. I’m also wearing MAC Face and Body Foundation, Estee Lauder Doublewear concealer, MAC MSF Natural, NARS blush in Sin, MAC powerpoint pencil in Grey Utility on my waterline {LOVE} and a billion coats of mascara.
Are you a fan of the ballet? Have you been to theatre recently? What did you wear?

Your lashes are absolutely amazing! I wish I looked that good in skinny jeans… x
I’m afraid I’m a cultural phillistine and have a complete aversion to the theatre, unless there is a live band there. I feel this may be something I have to overcome for my new life, but it can wait until then!
Love the grey on the waterline, I shall have to have a gander when I go to MAC next weekend!
Oh you look lush! very chic and i really love the look of hibiscus. I have never tried that lippie before. I love the ballet and was only recently introduced to it – the last production I went to see was Scottish Ballet’s Alice – amazing, trippy and bit creepy at times but was just fascinating xx
Oh you look truly lovely! Those jeans! I am so jealous, but I have at long last found a brand to fit me, even though they cost a bomb. Now I just need the shoes and the blouse and the amazing sense of style you have and I’m well on my way to being as lovely as you 🙂 The last time I saw the ballet was January, and I saw Giselle. It was stunning 🙂 xx
Love the ballet and love your outfit. I posted yesterday about the Royal Ballet at the O2- awesome but not quite the same as seeing it at the Opera House. Acosta and Rojo were mesmerising as usual.
xx
You look lovely, that blouse suits you so well! The jeans are awesome, I am going to be the devil on your shoulder that says get more in other colours too!
Got serious lash envy, you have awesome lashes!
I saw a ballet when I was younger and I did actually enjoy it, I would love to got to the theatre much more now and see a whole variety of cultural delights but it really isn’t the boys cup of tea… xx
@Peonies and Lilies Thank you. I bought the blouse a couple of months ago but I find Zara always have something similar in. I always get compliments on it when I wear it! I LOVE musicals too, haven’t been to one in a while. usually get my fix in film form.
@Rocaille Hehe! Thank you, they are crazy long, I know! I’ve seen you in jeans, you look gorgeous 🙂
@m4dswine I’m addicted to grey eyeliner at the moment. It’s perfect for warmer weather i think, not quite as harsh in the sunlight as black. Have fun on your MAC spree, I’m tres jealous!
@Saskia Thank you. I’ve been wearing hibiscus all the time. Sadly it was LE so it may not be in store anymore. I loved your posts on the Scottish ballet. I hope you get to go again soon.
@Cami Awww your too kind 🙂
I always think jeans are worth spending a bit of money on. The right fit is so essential and can make you feel AMAAAZING, no? I normally swear by Miss Sixty which aren’t exactly cheap (although the sale is always good) so I was chuffed that these fitted so well.
@L I thought I commented on your post about the ballet? I guess it didn’t publish! It sounded fabulous, I’d love to get to London to see something.
@Oh Panda Eeek! I am so tempted by the other colours. there was a gorgeous dark green pair which would work right through into Autumn. Hmmm.. maybe if they’re still there come pay day..
It’s not really Mr. LA’s thing either, perhaps we should go together 😉
