Jesse and I took a stroll round town yesterday morning. We were killing time before our 11am baby yoga class (yup… you read it right, my baby does yoga) and I happened to wander into Dorothy Perkins. Good old Dotty P.. Not necessarily the first place I’d look for ‘fashion forward’ or ‘on trend’ items of clothing but recently… well, wow is all I can say.
I spotted so many things I’d happily add to my wardrobe. Some of the clothes were on a par with my usual high street haunts (Topshop, Warehouse, Oasis etc.) in terms of style but often much more affordable. If, like me, you endeavour to channel a little bit of vintage inspired glamour in your everyday wardrobe then I’d definitely suggest you head down to your local branch.
My top picks from the
website would have to be…

I love the print on this skirt and the lightweight cotton material mean that it’s perfect for the summer months (although you could still get some wear out of it come Autumn with the addition of some thick tights and cute knitwear).

I actually think this looked prettier in real life. It reminded me off a vastly more expensive
dress from Warehouse.

Now, this I LOVE. Perfect vintage inspired sundress. I’m not sure I’ll be able to resist this beauty!

You could pretty much nail the tribal trend with these dresses. For me the nipped in waist and slightly fuller skirt makes them all the more perfect by keeping the look feminine. They’d be great teamed with some chunky wedges and wooden jewellery or prehaps a khaki jacket to add a hint of ‘urban chic’ to the ensemble!

Hi there, i have noticed dorothy perkins have really taken a step up in the fashion industry lately in fact i got too gorgeous dresses from there just this week. I wonder if they have a new buyer?
I really like Dotty P’s, I’ve gotten a couple of nice maternity bits from there, and a lot of my pre-pregnancy wardrobe comes from there!
I too love Warehouse, but I find Oasis a little over priced sometimes, I’m not sure why, I just never love the items enough for the price…maybe I’m just tight, but hey…living on a budget!!
I think that floral dress would look booooootiful on you, in fact, you NEED it in your life 😉

@nicoletta I think they might! There has def been a bit of a change in the overall content of the store.
@Laura I’ve always like Dotty P’s too, I just don’t expect to see quite so much stuff in there that I like as our branch is small and a bit rubbish. If ours has suddenly got this good I can’t imagine what the bigger branches must be like right now!! I had maternity clothes from there too!
I agree with you about Oasis but I do like them for special occasions. I bought the dress I wore to my sister’s 21st from there and I LOVE it!! I quite like the jewellery too and I’ve bought ballet pumps from there which have lasted better than any other pairs I’ve ever bought. I can’t resist Warehouse… I think it’s my most shopped at shop!!
And I think you may be right about the dress 😉
