Unfortunately, we didn’t get much sleep on Christmas Eve as Jesse came down with some kind of flu bug. He was a little out of sorts all day but he did perk up while he was opening presents. He’s still not 100% and Mr. LA and myself have been struck down with it too.
For some reason I’ve ended up with loads of photos of Jesse opening his gifts and hardly any of Izzy opening hers! He loved his Thomas the Tank Engine DVDs that Izzy picked out for him and was pretty chuffed with his wooden digger too (I’ll admit I’m a total toy snob and will usually choose a wooden toy over a plastic one!!)
Jesse is a little obsessed with Toy Story so his Buzz Lightyear t-shirt was a big success. We held him up in front of the mirror and he had the most enormous grin on his face when he spotted his reflection! Our main gift to Jesse was a Duplo farm which I’m sure will get hours of play! He loved all the animals that came with it. He spent ages making ‘mooing’ sounds and whizzing the tractor about.
Unfortunately, Isabel’s big present was held up by the snow so her new bike will have to wait a few more days. I was really sad when I first realised that she wouldn’t have anything to open from us on Christmas morning but in the end she had so many other gifts I don’t think she even noticed. Nanny and Papa bought her a remote controlled car for her Barbie dolls which made her day!
Christmas dinner was delicious and we had a wonderful evening doing a British quiz narrated by Brian Blessed (hilarious) while drinking Baileys and eating truffles. Bliss!
