I thought I’d take a quick break from the horrible, horrible essay I’m currently struggling to write and post these pics from Friday night.

For some unknown reason, the shop I work in always opts to hold the staff Christmas party in February. Weird as it is to be shopping for Secret Santa gifts when the shops are already filling up with Easter treats, it’s quite nice to have a reason to get glammed up in what is otherwise a pretty bleak month.

I managed to execute some pretty impressive speed shopping on Friday morning, picking up almost an entire outfit in just under 45 minutes. Zara was my saviour, it’s full of beautiful things at the moment. I’ll definitely be going back for a more leisurely browse after payday on Friday.

Here’s the obligatory awkwardly posed picture. I have no idea why I look so pissed off…

Skirt and Blouse: Zara, Vest (worn underneath): Warehouse,
Tights: Dorothy Perkins, Shoes: New Look,
Gold Wishbone Necklace and Gold Disk Stud Earrings: Accessorize

I kept my make-up simple with MAC Shroom and Quarry on my eyes, with some winged eye-liner courtesy of my new Clinique gel liner and lashings of mascara. A dusting of NARS Deep Throat on my cheeks and Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick in No. 71 Fatale and I was good to go. I didn’t have enough time for a manicure but I’d planned on wearing Chanel Particuliere.

It was a wonderful night filled with pink wine and lots of yummy Italian food, as well as a slightly tipsy walk in the rain to try and find a taxi home. My managers always hold a little award ceremony at some point during the evening and this year I was thrilled to receive ‘The Audrey Hepburn Award for Sophistication and Glamour’. My colleagues know me so well!
