Phew. Thank goodness it’s Friday.

This week really ran away from me. Between studying, working and the children, I feel as if I’ve hardly had time to come up for air. Definitely looking forward to some serious R&R this weekend. It’s already begun really as I’m writing this from the comfort of my sofa where Izzy and I are curled up under her pink duvet watching 101 Dalmatians. Bliss.

A few bits and bobs that don’t warrant posts in their own right but I want to share. Random is the order of the day it seems.

  • It was Izzy’s school sports day on Wednesday. I ended up having to miss it as it fell on the one day of the week that I work and none of my colleagues were able/could be bothered to swap shifts with me. Mr. LA took plenty of pictures but I have to admit I was pretty devastated to miss standing on the field and cheering along with all the other parents.
  • I’ve joined Pinterest and I have to say that, if you haven’t already, you really should too. It’s perfect for someone like me who regularly trawls the Internet ‘for inspiration’, speedily clicking from one link to another without really taking note of all the things that, ya know, inspire me. Once you’ve installed the little ‘pin it’ button the world, or rather the world wide web, really is your oyster. At the moment I’m using my boards to document all sorts of wedding-related prettiness and plan decorating projects for post dissertation hand-in. If you’re already pinning do point me in the direction of your profile so I can follow.
  • We had a little wedding invitation saga earlier in the week. It’s well on its way to being resolved now but if I’ve learnt anything it’s that you can never, ever over proof read something as important as your invites. Check it, check it and then check it again.
  • While we’re on the subject of the wedding, yesterday marked exactly 6 months until the big day. Exciting times! I must do an update on where we are in terms of planning, it’s slowly beginning to come together.
  • I was thrilled to see my first ever guest post go live yesterday over on The Baby Wife. It tells the story of Jesse’s birth at home on our bathroom floor 2 years ago. I received some lovely feedback on twitter and in the comments which was wonderful as I really enjoyed writing and sharing the tale of the little man’s arrival. The blog is fast becoming a wonderful resource for those planning to start {or indeed expand} a family so if that’s your kind of thing do check it out.
  • Mr. LA enlisted some help from a friend’s Dad this week and had the front garden cleared and generally tarted up. I honestly can’t believe the transformation. I failed as a blogger and omitted to snap a before pic but hopefully the children will do some photogenic things out there over the weekend so you can have a peek. Crossing my fingers and toes for good weather so we can make the most of it. Planning a trip to the garden centre to purchase some herbs and lavender to refill all our terracotta pots too.

We have so many lovely things planned for the weekend, starting with a wander round a local vintage fair tomorrow. Dreaming of the treasures we might find already. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend too.
