My friends and family gave me some amazing birthday presents over the weekend. They all know me so well, most of their gifts were make-up or beauty related.

One of my closest friends gave me the stunning Chanel nail polish in Fantastic and my first ever Juicy Tube in Caramel Gospel. I’ve always imagined these glosses to be too sticky but I have to say I’m smitten. It is a beautiful golden berry colour, not sticky at all and it actually seems to hydrate my lips. Oh and the smell…. it’s delicious.

My sister bought me back some amazing goodies from duty free (some of which I paid for, the rest were a gift). The MAC lipsticks are (L-R) Most Popular, Colour Crafted and Russian Red. I wore Russian Red on Saturday night when I went out for a meal to celebrate and I think I can safely say that I’ve found my favourite red lippy. I felt suitably glamorous! The three eye shadows are Trax, Satin Taupe and Tempting. These shades are all lovely and I think my collection was definitely lacking in some good, everyday shades before I acquired these. I also got Mocha blush. This is a matte formulation and makes me look nice and healthy. I like that I can add shimmer just where I need it, making it great for a pared down daytime look. I’ve been teaming it with my Bobbi Brown Platinum Shimmer Brick.

My best friend gave me my first Too Faced product, a Smokey Eye kit. It’s got some lovely shaded in it and has little cards inside explaining how to create the perfect smokey eye. I’ve not tested the shadows yet so can’t comment on the pigmentation/application but I’m excited to give this range a go. My wonderful boyfriend must have been reading my blog as he gave me this fantastic London charm bracelet from Cath Kidston that I mentioned in my post about being homesick. I love it so much, the charms really make me smile. I’ve had to explain what the millennium wheel is to my little girl!
I also got loads of other lovely treats like DVDs, books and chocolate. I was given a voucher for a local spa which I cannot wait to use. It will be perfect for after my exams are finished next week. I manged 6 hours of study today and now my brain aches. I really hope the baby sleeps tonight, I’m well and truly knackered!!
